Forest Hunt, from Lionheart
Forest Hunt, from First Blood

I love these tracks, but the best for me is The Hunt from The Final Conflict.

Consider Alfred Newman’s superb “The Hunter” theme for the film “The Bravados”, 1958, in which Gregory Peck portrays a man relentlessly hunting those he thinks responsible for the murder of his wife.

I want to thank everybody for their suggestions on this thread! Through these recommendations I discovered several scores and delved deeper into my own collection.

FATE IS THE HUNTER - Jerry Goldsmith

THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER - Basil Poledouris

DADDY'S GONE A HUNTING - John Williams

SPACEHUNTER - Elmer Bernstein

Not specific cues, but it seems these films have something to do with "hunting".

DADDY'S GONE A HUNTING - John Williams

I'm not sure it has much to do with actual hunting, zooba! smile Plus, it has never been released.

REVOLUTION (Foxhunt) - John Corigliano

There's not many cues that could top this one.

The Death Hunt from "On Dangerous Ground", as played by Charles Gerhardt & The National Philharmonic, is the most savage hunt music I can think of. Oh, Bernard Herrmann, but I sure you all knew.

Laurie Johnson's great fox hunting music in the U.K. production, THE BELSTONE FOX, (1973), soundtrack on RONCO Records...

Nino Rota: WAR AND PEACE (Also hunting music in the Russian WAR AND PEACE, though I can't remember the composer)

Bronislau Kaper: AUNTIE MAME (Rosalind Russell in a comic fox hunt.)

John Scott: THE SHOOTING PARTY (not a fox hunt, but certainly hunting)

Mario Nascimbene: THE VIKINGS (I know there's a hunt, but can't recall if it has a lot of music.)

Miklos Rozsa: KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE (hawking)

Alfred Newman: THE EGYPTIAN (Victor Mature and Edmund Purdom go lion-hunting, with intriguing results.)

Frank Churchill: BAMBI (Hunting from the animals' point of view, particularly one horrific sequence involving terrified quail.)

To this subject we might add the latest "old" entry:

"The Hunt" by Richard Addinsell, from BEAU BRUMMELL, on the new Rozsa Box Set.

.....and wasn't there a fox hunt in TOM JONES by John Addison?

A very good Spanish film called "The Hunt" directed by Carlos Saura in 1965.
It has a percussive score by Luis de Pablo

Also, Roger Corman's "The Tomb of Ligeia" features a fox-hunt scene;
the film's scored by Kenneth Jones.
