I remember buying the LP when it came out in 1969. The Chairman was one of only two soundtracks issued on the short-lived Tetragrammaton Records. The other was Lalo Schifrin's magnificent Che! The label went out of business in 1970.

So here's a question. Since this 'preview' recording won't reflect the final one, will it be included in the final release (however long out that is....)?

Inquireing minds want to know.

Quite enjoyed that preview track, regardless.

More than happy to support this one

Such great news! I've been waiting for a re-recording of THE CHAIRMAN for years smile

I am very happy with all of the Intrada Kickstarter productions and will continue to support them as much as my pocketbook will allow. I am beside myself right now knowing that their next project will be Goldsmith's THE CHAIRMAN.

If they can squeeze in other short pieces as bonus such as the unused 'End Credits' from RAMBO- FIRST BLOOD II would be a terrific opportunity to hear in proper sound.

That's a good idea! Of course I have no idea how much music they plan to record from The Chairman but perhaps on another future release.

Since they clearly made way more off of A&C and are also selling the CD officially on the site, I would hope they don't get too greedy and be fair with how much money they want for the Kickstarter.

Wow! Just wow!

Personally, I'd prefer a title-unique presentation. The score of "The Chairman" merits a solo album, and I mean that most sincerely.

Thanks. It all depends on how such things can be programed budgeted and planned.

Hey Ron, doesn't have to be appended at the end of the album on disc 1 but can be made part of 2nd disc where another short score or suites can be added like they did with THE BLUE MAX rerecording with 2CDs which also featured THE CHAIRMAN Suite on it amongst others.

A Jerry Goldsmith Western suites should be a good idea too. Its never been done.

I remember I owned that RANSOM/THE CHAIRMAN combo from Silva, but eventually sold it or gave it away because of the bad sound quality. Would definitely be interesting to hear the score the way it's supposed to.

That's... a take. You're living in the end days of CD soundtracks, and Intrada are going to the extraordinary lengths of re-recording a full score... I'd be amazed if they make anything on this. They can charge what they want as far as I'm concerned.

Yes both RANSOM and THE CHAIRMAN are probably the worst sounding recordings ...so what a great treat!!!!

Yup, there’s little to zero profit on these projects. Even the series of mini GE Theater kickstarters required me to put in my own funds to ensure completion by the time we got to the final recording sessions.

Any overage, from the first campaign, went straight into the fund for the next Kickstarter.

Yes. It would have been the second in the Frontiers series, if the plan had gone through.

How can a new recording be made when the 20th/Fox studio refuses to disclose the manuscript?

It can be done with a by-ear takedown, if that was the case, which is how many modern re-recordings are done.

However, has anyone stated that Fox refuses to disclose the manuscript?

Cheers

Who says they refuse?. The scores exist so I do not think a transcription will be necessary nor that they are not accessible.
