What's with that new 90 day thing where you can't buy it from any other vendor?
What's that all about?
Is it just some James Bond stipulation?

This release seems to have more attention from MGM and EON Productions than past releases (this is a good thing) and they are advertising it on the front page of the official 007 Store. La-La Land likely wants to make sure stock is readily available for the parent company that helped make this release possible, as well as for their customers who order from their store. I believe during the Octopussy/Live and Let Die release, there were some sour comments and limited patience by some who were frustrated their orders (ordered from other distributors) were not shipping, even though La-La Land had their stock and was shipping to their customers.

This is a wonderful release and so glad to see encouragement and support from MGM and EON. I hope they see some financial value in devoting time and attention to continue re-releasing these older Bond scores.

Will Neil be doing a "tech talk from the producers" on any upcoming podcasts?

If EON are more involved with this release rather than simply licencing them to LLL as they have in past, of course it makes sense that there is a 90 day window in which they can make money via 007store rather than let the product become available from other vendors, who invariably inflate the price and exploit those not necessarily in the know.

Ironically, The 007 Store will be ones to over-inflateing their prices, Goldfinger selling there for $35 USD vs La-La Land's $22 USD. This is the store after all that sells the Making of Dr. No book for $750. Maybe shipping is included wink

The price must vary depending on the exchange rate. I'm looking at the UK store which prices the Goldfinger CD at £25 + £3.80 P&P - which is cheaper than the equivalent rate on the LLL site when converted to UK prices. Importing from LLL to the UK where I am is considerably more expensive. Swings and roundabouts... if you want it you'll pay. I was being loyal to LLL and ordered direct even though it cost me a few pounds more - not excessively so. It wouldn't make sense for a US resident to buy it from the UK - the same conversion applies.

Just ordered through 007Store and my thoughts:

- price of the album is much higher on 007Store than on LLL's shop
- price of shipping from 007Store is much lower than on LLL's shop
- customs fees will be the same for me from both shops (I'm a resident of European Union)
- delivery time from 007Store (UK) will be much faster, than from LLL shop (USA).

In summary, it comes out to the same price, but the delivery time will be much quicker from 007Store.

Another aspect is the disappointment with the content of this release, from what I can see from the comments, not only from me. But because it's Bond, it was ordered straight away. I look forward to future expanded 007's scores and thanks to LLL.

Well, as has already been confirmed the master tapes are non-existant so the score cannot be expanded further. Fan recreations are not original (as good as they are) so should not be heard on an official James Bond soundtrack release. This is all there is. Presumably lifting missing music from whatever M&E tracks that exist was not viable or suitable to the licence holders.

Many times in history, tapes considered lost have been found years later. If here the tapes were indeed lost, then ok, I understand, but it does not change the fact that one can be disappointed with the contents of the album due to the lack of extension, but at the same time be satisfied that the album came out at all.

No doubt if the tapes did ever turn up there is the possibility of an expansion. But what we have is what we get. You can still be disappointed and choose to buy again or not as many appear to be doing. The plus for me was a remastered edition and in film order. What's not to like?

I would be interested to know if track 15, Goldfinger (Instrumental Version), is based on the mono LP or not. It's been my understanding that there were some sonic issues related to phasing on the 2003 release at least. I have the US mono LP, & it's night and day sound quality-wise, even with surface noise.

I don't buy vinyl, but as if anyone is interested, vinyl is in the pipeline - LLL has just confirmed it on FB comment.

Everyone is acting all ho-hum about this but the last time this score was released I was in high school and just starting to collect soundtracks. This is a rockstar release for me and I didn't blink before ordering. Thank you, LLL, for getting Bond out there.

Well. Just not high enough on my rebuy list.
And I haven't played it in ages ,as I said earlier. Lastly I can program mine into film order.

Bloody Brillant.

Next up - The Man with the Golden Gun!

Not sure, i think they don't know this film exist .But i am sure those producers should retired. Still no expanded soundtrack from this films that was ready to go 20 years ago ! IT DOES NOT COMPUTE !!!

It is John Barry.
It is John Barry scoring Bond.

Essential. IMHO.

Instant purchase for me, even though it is the CD forth copy I have.

1. EMI CD
2. Expanded CD
3. Re-release (Japanese) of EMI CD (last year)
4. LaLa Land expanded.

Glad to have 'em. Keep them coming.

I'm also sad that the album hasn't been expanded, but people should understand that if they don't buy it because of this, we're only hurting ourselves/fans. After all, only if the album sells well, will it send a signal to the label and EON that it's worth investing in more expanded Bonds.

I purchased it from LLL.

Very welcomed release.

Regarding the lack of additional music: I take solace in the fact that between the U.S. and British releases that the best cues have been released.

And I'm presuming that in this presentation they will sound better than ever.

Will buy as its James Bond. Unfortunately no new music could be found but the film order, new liner notes and improved sound (even if there are limits to improve the sound from LP masters) are sufficient reasons for me.

Also I hope these releases selling well will stimulate EON to allow more Bond releases.

One thing I noted is that LLL did not included that border on the cover art that was in Octopussy and LALD, which is a good thing as I was not a fan of the border. Instead this is a new cover based on, but improving, the one from the original LP with no borders added (neither the black ones from 2003 and LLL TWINE, DAD and TND nor the 2023 coloured of Octopussy and LALD)- hope this is the trend for new ones.

And hope also that EON does not stick with this “10th anniversaries” thing (or I’m not optimistic about having Moonraker and License To Kill released), who knows when a new movie will get in production/ EON’s dors get closed again…

I have no previous versions so I'm certainly in. It's Bond.
