I don't see how it can be anything but HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3..

I think we all agree on that being one of the titles, especially since Powell himself announced the release date far in advance! But the question is what other “fiery” score will be paired with it?

Just rewatched Demolition Man for the first time in over a decade last week, and there is a LOT missing from the original release, so an expanded release would be awesome. Doubt we'll ever see it though.

We'll have a better idea once the visual clues drop tomorrow.

Hoping for Zimmer’s BACKDRAFT!

(But did they ever expand Zimmer?)

The original Backdraft album wasn’t released by Varese (it was Milan, I think). Zimmer scores that Varese released and *might* control in perpetuity:
Driving Miss Daisy
Green Card
Pacific Heights
K2
Younger and Younger
I’ll Do Anything (man, some of these Zimmer scores I have never heard of!)
Renaissance Man
An Everlasting Piece
Matchstick Men
Tears of the Sun
Spanglish (one of my very favorite Zimmer scores; would love an expansion)
The Holiday
Frost/Nixon
Kung Fu Panda 2 (co-composed by John Powell)
Chappie

Varese also released the original album for Drop Zone but Quartet Records later expanded that so I think we can conclude they didn’t get perpetuity rights on it.

Backdraft seems like a good guess.

Thankfully some composers like to spill the beans first!

(cross-posted from another thread)

I pre-ordered Pleasantville and Serenity directly from Varese on December 4th. I still have not received them, and my order is still listed on the Varese site as "unfulfilled." (and I never heard anything from them about the delay until I wrote to them and basically asked "Hey, where's my s**t?")

So I ordered them from Screen Archives on February 9th. They arrived today, only 11 days later.

Can someone please explain how this makes any sense?

(This doesn't mean I won't ever order again from the Varese site. But I probably will "hedge my bets.")

Varese has become the new BuySoundtrax.

Thank you for eloquently saying what I was thinking of posting for a couple hours now.

Is there a film called Ring of Fire. Coz their clues are usually all my arse.

Yep, it's a somewhat forgotten McGonahey (sic) post apocalyptic dragon flick from 2000-ish, with an admittedly good Ed Shearmur score.

Good film, good score, longshot.

That's Reign of Fire

An expanded FIRESTARTER by Tangerine Dream would be a - well - dream!
