Couldn't stand the first twenty-five seconds. Then the rest was rather generic sounding (for Elfman). I don't feel the need to ever listen to it again. And I hated the generic polished opening credits.
Lots of typical Elfman in there, but the mix is so different. My seven year old was listening and he said, what is that, it sounds like Marvel ...
Indeed. Not sure why it needed to sound so synthetic or beefed up. Current sensibilities, I suppose. But the core of it is classic Elfman, a sound he rarely employs these days.
Well it is 2022 and Elfman and Bacon got a Netflix budget (AKA blank check) for this audio production. I'll be curious to see the sound production credits. And also hear this on the album versus YouTube.
