Im confused...so this is an actual CD?
Never heard of this...kinda really bad advertising and promotion for such a landmark score...or was I in hypersleep?

It's an oddity... sort of a combination of performance art (there was a video recording of James Conlon conducting the complete score) and photography (accompanying published book of stills of the conducting), which had the happy byproduct of the best and most complete recording of Herrmann's Vertigo ever made (by an excellent conductor of concert music):
https://www.discogs.com/James-Conlon-Douglas-Gordon-Bernard-Herrmann-Feature-Film-A-Book-By-Douglas-Gordon/release/14465487

Would be great if some label was able to license the recording and re-release it just as an album, with individual tracks. But I have a copy where it was split up into cues and it's just a great album.

On the other hand the book and the photos have absolutely no artistic interest (in my opinion), it is a strange concept which certainly allows to appreciate a superb version of Vertigo but whose finality remains rather obscure.
