As someone who wasn't aware of this set until not too long ago, can someone please explain what all of the talk about "Teeth" is regarding?

When the set was initially released the liner note booklets were missing the T-Rex teeth with the exception of a single tooth!

It was later corrected on future printings of the booklet. The teeth were restored.

Look closely at this promotional photo. The booklet on the right is the one with the missing teeth.

It is killing me to know that these are available. I've gotta go to bed before I give myself a Jurassic panic attack for letting this set slip through my fingers...

Oh, I hate to see a fellow soundtrack fan suffer!

I just bought a number of titles and crossed the $200 mark and was given the Jurassic Park set. I already own it so I don't need it for myself.

Since I got it at no extra charge I'll be happy to send it to you at no charge to you. If you don't live in the United States I'll have to ask you to pay the shipping charge. If you do live in the U.S. then I can ship it free via UPS.

My email address is in my profile. If you'd like to have the JP set then please send me your name and address and as soon as I get it I'll pack it up and send it to you. Happy Labor Day!

-Adam-

I just sent you an e-mail, Adam. I'm just floored by your offer. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to thank you for this....

Great to see the generosity on this board... Adam has helped me out in the past as well.

Oh, man, that is hilarious. I'm not sure if I would have noticed that. Thanks for clearing that up, Adam. Are the toothless sets worth more? As a comic-book collector, I know that a weird misprint like that would drive the value up....

I wonder, would this offer have worked with $200 in gift cards?

Yes, that’s what I did - it covered tax and shipping, too.

Looks like Superman: The Movie is now out of stock...

Haha, the same thought crossed my mind, but I don't think the world of soundtrack collecting works that way. Would be cool if it did. Then again, I'd never be able to part with my set no matter how many zeroes were added to the price tag.

I think my booklet cover has the teeth present and correct. However, my booklet has a different problem - several pages in the centre of the booklet are upside down. In any case, I found the Jurassic Park booklet slightly disappointing. There was page after page devoted to the production of the two films, and relatively few pages on the actual scores themselves.

Awesome gesture by Adam! And Dannyboy, you're going to love this set believe me! It is tremendously put together!

It already has happened, or need the saga of the mixing bowls be brought up again? Were those mixing bowls made up of watermelons?

Dune expanded 1997 vs 2000 issues
The multi-edition, online "exclusive" calamity of Blade Runner 2049
The unmarked Target exclusive of Attack of the Clones
TRON Legacy... the less said about that, the better.

But these aren't examples of something actually becoming a collector's item, are they? Or rather an attempt by some company or other to bill something as a collector's item to drive enthusiasts into a buying frenzy? Or am I missing the intended sarcasm of your post, haha?

In the case of the Blade Runner 2049 "calamity" as you so appropriately phrased it, the so-called limited edition collector's item differed in no way whatsoever from the less expensive general release apart from somebody slapping a sticker on the case that said "Limited Edition," lol. And an infinite number of them were manufactured, too. Certainly the shadiest marketing ploy I've ever seen. I'm actually surprised no legal issues were raised over that.

I think I had my set for about a year before I even noticed it was missing the teeth!

On an unrelated note, what is the deal with the unmarked Target exclusive of Attack of the Clones? I have that edition...

Attack Of The Clones Target Edition had a track (On The Conveyor Belt?) not available on any other edition, tagged on at the end (I think).

I don't know what "unmarked" means in this context, but yea - if you bought the CD from Target in the US, you got a bonus track that wasn't on the CDs sent to any other store (in the US). I believe internationally, every version had the track (it was called "On The Conveyor Belt" and contained edited down versions of "5M5 Finding The Conveyor" and "5M6 The Conveyor Belt")

I had spent a few years tracking down a copy of Episode II with the bonus track. It was unmarked in the sense that the track wasn't listed on the back of the CD, but the release had a different catalog number on the spine than the regular releases. I got mine used within the last year, so there could've been a hype sticker in '02.

Can anyone please post the differing artwork side by side?

    US:

    International:

Unless you meant the different front covers, but those had nothing to do with if it had the bonus track or not

Then when Disney Records reissued it in 2018, they gave it a new front and back cover, and did not include On The Conveyor Belt in any territory
