Well, that’s incredibly disappointing if Beltrami is indeed out. If it had been a completely new film that’s one thing, but with the original trio reprising their roles he’ll be sorely missed. A damn shame.

I agree. I was hoping to see what he could do in Scream 5. I was hoping to have more a return towards the first two film scores for part 5.
I can't find that post on either his Twitter or Instagram account. Maybe he has deleted the post again, I dunno.
Beltrami not returning is definitely a huge shame, his music was the soul of the series. Although I didn't care much for the score for the 4th one, the first three scores are all great though!
There was a time when both Tyler and Beltrami were among my favorite composers and I couldn't wait to hear their new scores. These days though both are more miss than hit and I find most of their music somewhat uninspired. That might say more about the current state of Hollywood than about their talents though.
The idea of a new Scream film doesn't excite me at all though, I think it's gonna be tricky to capture the right tone without Craven's unique voice.

I have a strong feeling about this fifth movie. I think they might have learned a lot watching Scream 3 and 4 which in my opinion is the weakest of them. They are huge Craven fans I really think they will honor his Scream legacy. Just praying they wont turn this (one too) into a comedy, lol
I would have no problems with S4 if only it ended about 10-15 minutes earlier... now that would be a cool and original ending!
Exactly! Which was also they way Kevin Williamson wrote it. Until Weinstein and Co brought in that Scream 3 writer to change the whole ending (and lots of earlier stuff in the movie as well).

Not his own, no. So its not confirmed. But seems very likely he will. He's great friends with these guys and seemed very exciting about this movie. Unless he's just a big fan, of course, lol!

Well still holding out hope he returns and one day we get a complete Scream 3.
Filming wrapped in November and the release date is January 2022. Has there been any official composer announcement yet? I still hope there’s a chance Marco might be involved.
