These recordings were made in New York?
Were the master tapes stored in NY somewhere for 55/60 years ... or were these archived in CA?
Tapes for both scores can be found in the Waxman estate preserved by the Syracuse University:

So it could be that those were used for the CD.
Or did CBS still have the original tapes?

Days when Kritzerland used to release interesting stuff are long gone.
So thanks to DD for doing this one and it was quite an unexpected surprise between all those D-movies.
I hope you guys are just teasing Bruce. Sure, he does show albums, was busy with a book of lyrics, and the dvd of his movie, but last year he released the Gail Kubik suites, The Cardinal, Henry King At Fox, Dementia, House that Dripped Blood....He's said he has a bunch of recordings, so it's just a matter of when he gets to them. Maybe he could post an inventory...

It's so cool to be surprised by out-of-left-field releases these days!
I do think many of the cd/digital bundles eventually come out also as just digital albums (which is what I want). But this one, who knows? I sure don't want to miss it.

Very interesting! Waxman is my favourite Golden Ager, and I've always been curious about his documentary scores. Hopefully, they're remastered well. I tend to prefer rerecordings over original recordings when it comes to scores this age.
Considering Waxman's magnum opus Taras Bulba had disappointing sales from Tadlow (took them a while to hit 1000, apparently), I'd say the chances of more Waxman re-recordings are sadly pretty low. 
That's why I'm so excited and pleasantly surprised to see this! Never thought a Waxman premiere would come from BSX of all places -- wow!

If you look at their website, there's a digital download section, but this isn't on it yet. You should contact them with your question.
You could always split the purchase with someone. I'm going to buy it mainly for the CD, not the download. Or just ask someone for the download links.
It's just that I do not want to use shipping departments and delivery services at this point of time - and it is generally not a good idea if you look at what's going on in the world. Maybe this is a matter which shouldn't be discussed on this board, though.

I’ve got no issue with short cues, Ford, and I’m not arguing against combining them, here. I was only pointing out that it’s silly to essentially say, “they sure don’t write long cues like this any more today” when these TV scores aren’t really full of long cues, just longer tracks since cues were obviously combined.

I’m pretty certain this is the first BSX release that could be termed “Golden Age” (yes it’s early 60s but Waxman is very much a Golden Age composer).
