The Moron who scribed this atricle should audition for the upcoming re-make of, 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' He will without any doubt be offered the leading role and wouldn't it be a gas if JW were to be offered to pen the score as well. Lol

Chris Rock joked back in the 1990's -- when in my opinion he was still funny -- saying: "White Out: A tricky substance that only eliminates black letters!" We're not that far off now from that thinking some people demonstrate... Did you know it's actually "Wite-Out"? I'd like to have a giant bottle and paint over the author of this garbage.

I haven't even held a bottle in probably fifteen years, so I have forgotten that.

Did you know it's actually "Wite-Out"? I'd like to have a giant bottle and paint over the author of this garbage. I think this is the most annoyed I've ever seen you post, Mr Matessino. But as the saying goes: "You gotta rile up a mild-mannered person in order to have something to gossip about!" I find humour in this and even if Mr Williams were to be made aware of this tripe, I think he wouldn't even lift an eyebrow. He has far too much class and clout for it. Yes, normally I believe that when you get hit with attitude, you should hit back with altitude, but as I feel like 75% of web content is "noise" and actually spend very little time with it, it's annoying when things show up in your inbox that are really not worth your time. The Maestro is on the plane to Vienna today so he is literally hitting back with altitude.

My location in Bavaria is close to his flight path, so we'll be closest since I was - on purpose! - driven by his place in Brentwood ten years ago. I hope that with the time to adjust to the jetlag and without any complications, he'll be able to enjoy his time in Vienna (has he been there before?). Unfortunately, it's unseasonably warm in this part of the planet at the moment, but perhaps that will give him and his company time to be shown around the place (in an open carriage, perhaps?). In terms of musical culture and history, it is one of the hot-spots. And next week, it's going to be THE hot-spot. To all who are going to be at the concert: ENJOY!!!

Out of curiosity, How many persons of color commented on this thread? I'm white, and a fan of Williams and the original SW trilogy. But even if this journalist is going a little too far and aggressive about his point targeting JW, I'm lucid enough to see there's a point here that definitely makes sense and deserves more than being laughed at and dismissed all together. It's been obvious to me ever since my college years that Hollywood movies have been consistently reproducing post colonial depiction of everything foreign. And Star Wars is ticking more or less all the boxes, despite its (rescent) will to be inclusive and talk to everyone. I recall a few months ago someone posted a link to a gender studies graduate dissertation on star trek music. The article was universally panned by most of the old timers on this board who are likely all old white men. Several admitted to only reading the abstract and being turned off by the so-called "liberal feminist buzzwords" (my paraphrase). We see this kind of close-mindedness in politics and it has sadly spilled over into rational discussion of art and culture as well. I get it. It sucks to be called out. Hollywood was founded and run by white males. No fault of mine. No fault of theirs. That was the times. But, as another old white guy once said, the times, they are a changing. I think anyone with an ounce of critical thinking skills can figure out that there is a very clear reason for this new awareness of the impact of art and culture. Did Williams set out to write a racist score? Of course not! and the mere fact that the word racist is being used is a clear example of irrational dialogue. This article is meant to stir up emotions. Let's be frank, stories are colored by cultures from all over the world--this is nothing new. What is new is that we live in a globalized market where everyone wants representation. I see nothing wrong with that. I get how some of the die-hards are claiming that the representation is clunky and shoe-horned and pandering...to that, I say, so what? Welcome to capitalism baby! Again, this is nothing we haven't seen before.
