I lived in Van Nuys in the early 90s, near that golf course with the big golf ball-shaped fountains.

I live in Van Nuys. I don't think I've met anyone from the FSM boards, at least that I'm aware of.

Everybody has a different definition of reasonable I guess. I consider a day trip reasonable, so I go to Los Angeles from Phoenix, AZ several times a year. About a 5 hour drive. Of course, we met at the last Fans of Film Music event and at Christopher Young's house.

I actually checked my mileage using the brain that is Compo. I'm 5,547 miles away.

Since someone else already posted the new Kritzerland I will use this opportunity to change my post to ask a question I've always been curious about:

HOW MANY FSMERS LIVE IN OR A REASONABLE DISTANCE TO LOS ANGELES (still the film composer capitol of the world

..and maybe did I ever bump into you?

I often dream about living in California, in or near LA (mostly when it's cold and winter here.) Does that count?

At Christopher Young's house a couple of years ago for the FSM gathering.

Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. I moved up to Santa Clarita in 2001 and then moved back down to Northridge in 2013.

Very cool to see so many others live in LA and Southern California on here!

I drive by the Van Nuys golf course with the giant golf ball fountain every week! LoL A little surreal and funny to see someone post that pic on here.

Quite a wide range. Too bad there isn't a meet-up to bring this group together from time to time (except those in the 2000+ mile zone). Soundtrack Saturdays was a good attempt.

I'm bringing back Soundtrack Saturdays as I have more time on my hands so do it smile

As you remember, we met in 2012 -- at your pool party, the hike to the observatory, the drinks at Catalina. Still very grateful for that, and I hope it's not the last time, even if we occasionally argue a bit on the boards. smile

I sometimes I wish I lived in LA, just for the proximity to the US (which essentially means 'global') entertainment scene, but then other times I'm glad I'm not, for various other reasons.

What a Great Idea..I will bring some snick snacks, my famous Cheese Balls. They are Huge and Melt In Your Mouth Good.

Maybe if we get enough to show up.we can play our best soundtrack albums( Attack of the Killer Tomatoes...Plan Nine From Outer Space, Shaving Ryan’s Private’s)

I truly can’t wait to do a meet and greet with some rather famous FSM bloggers. Oh The Fun!

I often wonder how many FSMers attend the TCM Classic Film Festival. The next one (10th Anniversary) takes place April 11-14. It may be an opportune time to organize a get together right before the festival that could include people visiting from out of town. During the festival itself there isn't time for anything other than watching films and attending other parties and events. Most of the activity is along Hollywood Blvd. (Chinese, Egyptian, etc.).
