Oh man! I can’t believe that 3LP version is coming out. It needs to come out digitally or CD.

I have loved the series, and adored the terrifying synth and piano score so much.
I rewatched the whole series on Amazon, and so many amazing cues.

The sad theme played over cases that will never be solved was great

The Hudson Valley UFO music is so classic and creepy. The most essential cue. Reminds me of Snow’s X-Files cues.

I would absolutely buy a CD release of this soundtrack just to have this track! The jazzy piano music heard in the segment about Resurrection Mary is nice too.

Why LP only? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Holy sh*t !! This was essential viewing back in its heyday...and still kinda is smile Always loved the music, but come on...LP ??? I get that it'll probably appeal to the cool kids who think this new fangled vinyl thing is neato, but it needs a CD or digital release.

I emailed the company hoping to get more info on a possible release for...everybody else ...

The opening titles is a pure instinctive need to want to turn up the volume more but your mind wanting to run away from the fear.

I hope it gets a CD release.

I'd buy a CD of this in a heartbeat. Someone get on this.

Me too. I'd be all over this release, and anything else like it.

Just FYI: The label has posted on Instagram/Facebook that that there were "15 or so of the 3XLP and a bunch of the single LP (single LP will probably not sell out)", and that was six hours ago. Someone commented they bought one, and I've bought one, so now there is "13 or so" left.

However, I only bought this release to support the series' music being released and to enjoy the artwork/presentation. I don't do digital, but I would much prefer (and also buy) a CD set of this in a heartbeat, and frankly, the more, (discs/music) the merrier, as far as I'm concerned. I did the whole vinyl thing for a while, and I even agree that they "sound better", but on the other hand, I cannot stand music that degrades, even a little at a time, so the chances that I will actually play the LPs, except perhaps to make a needle drop of them if I pick up the requisite equipment, is slim to none.

Somewhat confusingly, Terror Vision have commented on Facebook that their "license is for vinyl only" when asked if the released included a digital copy, but they also commented "We'll see how this does first!" when asked about a CD version. They also said it was "easily our biggest selling release", so hopefully, that makes a CD version much more likely.

Yeah, I bought it, despite not having a digital version included. I didn’t want to miss out. What a pain in the ass this will be to rip and tag 100+ tracks. My ass!

The tracklist was posted on the label’s Facebook page and it looks disappointing. The set includes the terrible non-NBC themes (open and close) but not the original end credits and apparently not the aired version of the main title! There’s an “extended” version of the theme, but it’s not clear what that means. 130 tracks! How can you leave off the actual NBC themes but include the CBS and Lifetime versions? No Update music here either, from what it looks like.

The main NBC main title theme is probably “extended”. This is because there was a 30 sec version and the extended one. It has all versions of the theme, which I think is good.
The original NBC end credits is probably “Closing Theme.”
I believe the Update music is the “Wanted Graphic Music” since they used the same cue.

Lemme look at the tracklist again. Happy to be wrong!

Maybe you’re right, but why isn’t it at the end of the collection with all the other themes, I wonder?

No, totally. The main theme versions should kick off each new LP, and credits themes close each album. Pretty silly just tacking them on at the end as if they’re bonus tracks.

I imagine Terrorvision will also be doing two more volumes for UFOs and Missing/Murders. Hope those are 3LP sets too.
Because of the demand and high sales, I think they will also end up doing CD or digital.
We shall see.

For every mystery there is a person that holds the answer. Perhaps that person is reading. Perhaps it’s you.

I sincerely hope you’re right, my friend. I contacted TerrorVision immediately after the LP announcement to ask about a CD release, and was told “we’ll see,” plus the fact that producing the LPs was so expensive. Fingers crossed!

Pretty disappointed so far. The single LP was apparently finished and shipped to customers weeks ago, but it's now mid-August and the 3xLP still has not even arrived at Terror Vision, much less begun to ship out, and there has been zero word on a CD version. Worse still, Terror Vision only seem to offer updates on social media, so anyone who paid for this item (back in May) has had to follow their social media account(s) to find out what is going on. Their latest activity on Facebook is dated August 6th, in which they say that the 3xLP "is wrapping up now. We're finally in the home stretch". This is accompanied by a photo of the glow in the dark vinyl, which can be viewed here:

https://www.facebook.com/terrorvisionvideo/photos/a.1010991222250272.1073741828.1007413962607998/2335742216441826/?type=3&theater

I'm starting to wish that the producers had made a deal with a different label, because Terror Vision seems less into music and much more into the packaging fetishism that has infected a lot of physical media companies in the past ten years or so. Surely there is money to be made in at least a single or two-disc CD overview for the series, and one which doesn't focus only on a horror/supernatural theme that doesn't even fully represent the series. I'm really hoping a CD version gets announced soon, as I want to enjoy the music, not the packaging.

Completely agree with the frustration (it's become a daily joke in the office, with my co-workers thinking I got scammed out of 50 bucks), but Terror Vision went to the producers themselves, so I doubt anyone else would have done this (they also said it would have to be vinyl-only, which sounds like BS). With the questionable quality of so many vinyl releases these days (not enough pressing plants and too much demand = no quality control), I can't say I fault him for rejecting test pressing after test pressing.

That said, I'm not nuts about the glow in the dark vinyl, but they swear they're doing it in a way that won't make it sound like shit. I would have rather just had a plain black version if this is what they were going to do. ALSO not crazy about the fact that I'm going to have to rip and separate 127 tracks or whatever if I want to listen to all the tracks digitally. ALSO not crazy about the fact that they included every version of the theme except the one from the first few seasons (they're using the 1991 version, which is longer and I think sounds mostly the same?). If you're including all the alternate Lifetime themes, why not include the theme that started it all? ALSO not crazy that he keeps calling everything "songs" but that's just me.

UPDATE: I've received the 3LP set (more on that another time, but a replacement is on the way for some problematic vinyl). The end credits music does NOT appear on this set, nor does the Update music, which is not the same as the Wanted Graphic Music at all. Bizarre. What is here is nice to hear, though I'm not sure I would ever want to listen to 127 tracks of this all over again. The most successful music for me is on the first LP, which has the sound I think of the most outside of the themes - synth bed and then mysterious piano.

From Terror Vision on Facebook (February 7th, 2019):

"Here we go again!"

Looks like another volume is coming. Sadly, it will once again be only on vinyl.
