Will the Steiner title be from the 30s, 40s or 50s?

Wouldn't it be fantastic if Ray replied ... all three ? smile That would signify something "BIG" like a box set. Just wishful thinking on my part. It doesn't hurt to dream big.

You can have all the Max Steiner you want, as long as you do what Capt. Queeg 2.0 says...

Any new Max Steiner is most welcome. I especially would love to have THE HANGING TREE and whatever there is available for SPENCER'S MOUNTAIN. PFK, where are you ? Your "main man" is almost ready to appear on CD again. Terrific ! THE CAINE MUTINY recently and now another Max Steiner waiting in the wings. These are great times !

Cody and Niall, I've been away from the computer. I was at Lowe's buying electric hedge clippers for Lisa, my girl next door. Well, actually Lisa's mom is paying for them, I'm giving them to her. Do I know how to live or what? smile

Yes Cody, Max is my favorite. It's exciting to see something coming soon. I didn't expect many Golden Age or quality Silver Age scores this year, we've had many surprises. Been a good year!

The emphasis on "BIG" Steiner release might be hinting at his 1953 score for the Jane Wyman/Sterling Hayden movie "So Big". A really fine Max score

Gosh Niall, big could mean a lot of things. Like the stated SO BIG, however SPENCER'S MOUNTAIN is big, HELEN OF TROY had a big horse, THE HANGING TREE was a big western etc. And maybe Ray said "big" meaning important.

Also Ray said it might have a broad appeal beyond Steiner fans. Maybe a complete KING KONG? Complete CASABLANCA? Complete GONE WITH THE WIND?

Maybe a big Max Steiner box?

It's fun guessing, hopefully we'll know in August.

Niall, why don't you ask your Leprechaun friends? smile

Now what could this photo signify ? It looks like a movie still from a Val Lewton film with Boris Karloff. But wasn't that Roy Webb territory ? Does anybody have another idea from this movie still that Ray posted.
