As for CD, I am surprised anybody will be releasing it at all because the owner of the New World catalog is not licensing to anybody. The man who owns it wants to sell it to somebody not do licensing deals.
I'd LOVE to know where they got the rights to do an LP.

Hmmm, Susan Justin's FORBIDDEN WORLD from the New World catalog was also re-issued on LP by DeathWaltz in 2014.

If I recall correctly Forbidden world was available as a digital (FLAC) download as well (but you still had to buy the LP).

I'm happy for those that like vinyl's, but I have no interest in collecting vinyl's. I stopped buying vinyl's, in the 80's. I hope this vinyl's, trend ends soon too..

It particularly steams my buns that these scores are only going to vinyl (especially in the case of CHUD), as people are only buying them for the albums' admittedly awesome artwork in the first place - not the music. .

Either buy a record player or stop whining. I'm not complaining when some of the stuff that comes out on CD isn't being issued on vinyl.

YEAH! And why isn't the new Collector's Edition Blu-ray not available on Betamax!?!

Some people may do, but there's still a fairly large community out there who are buying these for the music, not just soundtrack guys but a lot of folk into electronic and underground music for all the synth stuff.

It's probably best to accept that many of these really obscure titles are effectively download-only releases... but with a novelty vinyl release for those who like that sort of thing.

That might make sense if Betamax had any comparable quality to CD.

Surely these older releases are targeted at older people anyway, i.e. those who experienced the vinyl days the first time around, and may still have their original record players.

Good god!

Please stop making premiere releases of cool, obscure film scores in VINYL format ONLY.
LPs are cool as hell, but I want the music on a CD!

Admittingly I'm interested as I do remember some ok cues from Creepshow 2; I just recently purchased the 88 films blu-ray but haven't gotten round to it yet. Both movie and score are nowhere near as entertaining as the first installment. So most definitely not worth purchasing an overpriced outdated vinyl release for me, a CD release however I'd buy in a heartbeat.

I believe La-La Land said they had no upcoming horror releases for this year so let's hope some label will still put it out. Else I'm not even going to bother lol.

Great news! Hope a CD will be forthcoming from a soundtrack label smile

When it is released on CD, perhaps you'll be pleased if it is only available as part of a 12-disc set of completely unassociated music, with the other 11 titles being of no interest to you whatsoever.
A bit like those of us who have been hoping a CD would be forthcoming of Cobert's Jekyll and Hyde.

Unassociated music? Horror box = horror music. Please.

They can release it on 8-track for all I care, but for crying out loud, put the damn thing on CD!!

The problem here is unless the New World music owners have changed their stance (and I can say they haven't since I have asked them myself) these guys are playing loosely with the rights.

This is why we haven't seen them on CD. Maybe the LP labels get away with it? Maybe the rights owner likes LPs and is open to licensing. I can say with certainty that anybody releasing this is doing so without a proper license. Seeing how Waxwork has worked closely with our friends at La-La Land, maybe they know more about this or maybe they are putting a CD together. I have my doubts because I would think Mike and Matt would be all over both of these titles for CD.

Looking at CHUD I see the label shows the copyright as being from the composers. So maybe this is the same thing or maybe they are like Robin and think if the composer signs off that is all they need to move forward. I'd be surprised if ANY label that produces CDs takes that risk.

Maybe it's an LP thing but explain why nobody on CD is doing it? I can say with certainty that New World's supposed music owner has turned away many labels asking for CD rights, people I know included as well as myself.

Correction: I see Forbidden World is a Roger Corman/New World production. My understanding is all of his New World films are owned by him and his company welcomes licenses.

Agreed. I see it's a good business. I know a couple of cool horror projects coming to vinyl that most likely will sell out.

Finally!!! Creepshow 2 and I do happen to own a recordplayer and a good one too, so I am happy smile

I have My Bloody Valentine,Black Christmas, CHUD, Night of the Demons, Creepshow, Ms45, Forbidden World, Candyman, Candyman 2, Friday the 13th Part 2, Friday the 13th Part 3D, Salem´s Lot, Halloween and some other great titles and they sounds awesome.

Waxwork has Creepshow 2, Evil Dead 2, Babadook, Don´t Look Now, Darkman etc out in 2017.
I do hope they will release Madman as the producer and Composer have this ready and wants to release it but are looking for a label to do the honours smile

For those who want CHUD non-vinyl, the new Bluray features an isolated score and interview with the composers. Just sayin...

La-La Land and Intrada have both put things out on CD that Waxwork have released on vinyl, so there's no guarantees either way yet.
