Yavar, I always enjoy your thoughts and posts about film music. They're always insightful and informative. I really appreciate the time you spent in providing these advance liner notes. Now I'm intrigued to look into the film. Thanks again!

Just thought I would bump this thread as sometime in the past year the complete film was uploaded to YouTube -- I have added that to the top of the first post. I will shortly (finally!) be posting Advance Liner Notes for Jerry's first feature score, Black Patch (1957), which would make a great companion to this score if Intrada or Tribute would like to tackle a Goldsmith rerecording project. (Also, James Fitzpatrick has said he would be more than happy to do these if anyone wants to fund 'em!) Yavar

Thought I would bump this again as I updated the first post with time stamps. The YouTube video was taken down but the DailyMotion one is still up for people to view. Looking forward to covering this score soon on The Goldsmith Odyssey (www.goldsmithodyssey.com). Yavar

Bumping this thread because we just covered this score -- with many substantial sound clips -- on The Goldsmith Odyssey. We also take about ten minutes to discuss and play Goldsmith's early concert work from the previous year, Toccata for Solo Guitar. My colleague Jens bought the original Laurindo Almeida LP (Contemporary Creations for Spanish Guitar) and had it transferred, so if you are curious about this wonderful early work in its original performance (no offense to Gregg Nestor but I do prefer this version by the artist who commissioned it) you should really check this out: http://goldsmithodyssey.buzzsprout.com/159614/673893-episode-3-face-of-a-fugitive-1959-toccata-1958 Enjoy, and do please let us know what you think, either on this board or at mail@goldsmithodyssey.com. OMGoldsmith! Fellow fans, go to the Intrada forums and vote for this to be their next Kickstarter project -- a TWOFER in fact with both Black Patch AND Face of a Fugitive! http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7967 As of right now it's tied for first place! Update: ahead of even Rozsa and Herrmann now! A note if you want to vote: you will have to join the Intrada forum. Answer to their security question: Red Dawn by Basil Poledouris was the first Intrada album. Yavar

http://collections.new.oscars.org/Details/Archive/71302957 We now know the official track titles thanks to the Academy putting them on their website listing of written score holdings in their library. If I have time at some point I will compare them with my own and see about modifying my original "advance liner notes" to feature Jerry's original cue titles. 1a "Main Title," 7 pages 1b "The Prisoner," 8 pages 1c "The Escape," 14 pages 2a "Old Man's Suit," 7 pages 2b "So Long Boy," 12 pages 3a "Company Man," 7 pages 3b "The Meeting," 6 pages 3c "Jake, the Barber," 5 pages 3d "Wanted for Murder," 2 pages 4a "Wanted for Murder (part II)," 2 pages 4b "New Suit," 9 pages 4c "Slow Draw," 5 pages 6a "Buggy Ride," 7 pages 6b "Special Delivery," 10 pages 6c "The Kiss," 15 pages 7a "Bitter Thoughts," 6 pages 7b "Goodbye (part I)," 1 page 8a "Goodbye (part II)," 5 pages 8b "Broken Fence," 6 pages 8c "Friendly Advice," 3 pages 8d "Showdown," 5 pages 8e "Track Down," 9 pages 9a "Track Down (part II)," 18 pages 9c "End Title," 4 pages Especially since the original written scores still survive in the Academy's library so no "reconstruction by ear" should be necessary, I'm really really hoping that Intrada considers this and Black Patch as their next release, since the option handily won their informal poll last year: http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7967&sid=860f4a408f1d73ee27153c220894cabe Yavar
