For what it's worth, the collection wasn't even announced until about a month before The Lion King was released. This may be the case for phase two.

Hopefully Intrada, who probably should have done this series anyway, can one day pick up the baton. There are many more films who deserve this treatment as well as proper packaging, which Doug and company would no doubt deliver.

They put an awful lot of work particularly in presentation and package design. That along with being "anniversary editions" makes me think the series will continue, unless the first batch sold horribly. I really can't imagine the rest of the 90's scores not getting the same treatment, since those masters are probably well preserved and complete. Beauty and the Beast is a no brainer. It would be rediculous to do Pocohontas and not Beauty and the Beast. They cant stop now. Or maybe the sales were underestimated when they set the initial list of titles? Still, I'd like to think that if they cease releases like this, they will send it to Intrada. I'd have to add to the comments that it would seem extremely odd for them to stop without having done some of their best known and most popular films, notably Beauty and the Beast. Plus, surely if they are sticking with 0th or 5th anniversaries, the popularity of those already released is reflected in the films that happen to have had anniversaries in the last year. It would be odd to then assume that any others wouldn't be popular. If it had always intended to be their most popular films, I'm pretty sure films such as Pocahontas or the Aristocats or even Lady and the Tramp wouldn't have been featured in preference to far better known entries. I, for one, would be massively disappointed if we never get an expanded Beauty and the Beast or Hunchback, two of Alan Menken's finest outings, particualrly for Hunchback's underscore which is terrific.

I have to confess that I wasn't too happy with some of the more vintage titles in the series. They should have been expanded - and all existing material (demos etc.) should have been included. It's a shame that "Sleeping Beauty", for instance, remains incomplete and that not all alternates and demos have been included. I'd really wish for legacy editions of "Snow White" and "Bambi", but if they appear they will hopefully be more complete than the currently available editions (and include all extant bonus material).

That big box does make the collection seem pretty complete at this point, sadly.

My recollection from the liner notes of past editions of many of the older films rereleased in the legacy collection is that what they had in the way of score elements without effects was not as complete as they would have liked. The fact that there was no new material on many of the Legacy versions just tells us they were as complete as what they could find.

My two biggest I want are Bedknobs And Broomstick and Pete's Dragon. Please oh please give us these expanded with all the songs and some score!

I was just thinking the same... the two I would like to have even if they didn't release anything else (selfish, I know ;-) Anyone know what's going on with these? Did the first round do that badly? I can't seem to find any updates elsewhere.

The fact that there was no new material on many of the Legacy versions just tells us they were as complete as what they could find. That still doesn't explain why they didn't include demo tracks that have been available on Japanese CDs (and later on DVDs) two decades ago. They are simply trying to milk the cow again and again. The LP version of "Sleeping Beauty", for instance, has been on CD before in its entirety. Why isn't it included here? I also find it hard to believe that the available source materials for the post-nitrate era are that incomplete...
