The theme is a classic -- an obvious nod to Count Basie's theme for M SQUAD (or was it Leslie Nielsen's POLICE SQUAD theme that referenced this...I keep confusing the two).

It's easy to confuse them, what with them being the same and everything.

Ha, ha....good point!

Intrigued. Not familiar with the music at all.

Same here. Hopefully there will be a good amount of samples up on Tuesday smile

THANK YOU LA-LA LAND!!! Release of the God damned year as far as I'm concerned! Love the music in this trilogy and own the Varese soundtrack but have been dying for a complete set of all three like this!

And you finish off the write-up about the trilogy using my FAVORITE joke of the whole trilogy, bloody brilliant!

This brought a wide grin to my face this morning. There are a few cues I've wanted to hear apart from the films for years, including:

The music from the "I must kill the Queen" sequence in the stadium
The car chase music from the second film, along with the music accompanying Drebin's trip in the battering ram vehicle
The prison fight music from the third film

I'm wondering if the "Satin Doll" instrumental will be included. It was used in the show and I think it was in the first film.

Thank you, JB Fan, for knowing how to use a computer much better than I can, apparently.

Shame that I couldn't play this release during tonight's world cup semi final.

Excellent, will be getting this.

I'd love to have that, both for the songs and because the Varese Club disc sounds like shit. frown

Please tell me we are not already complaining about POSSIBLE future releases that no one knows about before we even have IN OUR HANDS this wonderful 3 disc set by LLL?

I don't know if the fans know this, but the labels and rightfully so, get quite annoyed when you say, "GREAT JOB!!! Can't wait to get it!!! Ok, how about this or that score next?" These guys work their tales off, let's praise them for THIS specific title right now before we go into asking or wanting or demanding this or that. You don't even have this score yet and you are already talking about the next.

Goodness razz

I'm anxiously awaiting this set as there just isn't a lot of scores out by Ira at all, so it will be nice to FINALLY get three whole discs worth of Ira Newborn music. La-La Land you guys ROCK!

Frankly, its the fans who are being grateful for the release which they have been wanting for years and years and finally going to get it. But labels should also understand that the fans are the ones who are going to eventually buy this product and the next one too and it goes on. However, labels forget that this great release is just one of the many titles that have been clamouring for and it gives them 'hope' that the NEXT holy grail will come out someday as well. Its just human behaviour. It doesn't mean that the fans or consumers of the product are being ungrateful. Praises are the first one to come when that great title comes out like a bang (e.g. the recent EMPIRE OF THE SUN) and the reverence is there. Understandably fans only conduit of communication today between the labels is the internet and its various film music websites, message boards and the social network. Fans love to PR and praise the new awesome releases. No one actually is ungrateful although a few queries and questions doesn't derail the hullabaloo on the latest release.

Glad the fans MYSELF included are getting this and the next batch, it's just slightly frustrating that as soon as a project is announced, there's a quick AWESOME, then it's a nod to the next title. Let's focus on this grand release!!
