A brief review of this album: http://www.movie-wave.net/air-force-one/ Caution: don't bother reading it if you're hoping for commentary on the album mastering. I will leave that sort of review to others with better ears.

I spoke with someone last week very close to the project, who told me that the ONLY available source for "Air Force One in Trouble" close to the quality of the rest of the music cues they used in this release was the FILM MIX, where they had "dipped" the volume in mixing the music to the action on screen. There was no other QUALITY version of that cue they could use. It was signed off by ALL relevant parties of this release. Frankly after YEARS of begging and begging for a release of this score, that so many people have trolled and b****ed about this one cue astounds me. Clearly this release was not meant for you, if that is ALL you took away from this amazing collection.

How about throwing away the "Trolled" and bitched" part and instead looking at: We're having a forum member tell us second hand that somebody knows why and then tell us, instead of Varese, instead of in the Varese announcement, and on top of their recent poor customer service issues. It's not trolling to point out the problem. It's not bitching to point out the problem. It's not trolling to want an answer about a product they want us to shell out for. It's not bitching to want an answer about a product they want us to shell out for. Evidently there are still issues that need to be fixed at this new incarnation of Varese Sarabande.

I guess we wait for it to sell out, Varese perhaps doesn't hold on to the rights to lets them go to another label, then another label doing a new/.deeper search. finds a good take and we get a new release many years later.

Obviously, Varese outsourced the mixing to their shipping department.

Yeah, it’s a shame. I brought it up on a thread on Facebook and some supposed Varese people chimed in and all they had to say was “well, Bruce and Carol both signed off on it and this is how they wanted it” I won't speculate on Bruce, but I think it's very likely Carol didn't listen to the whole thing, She probably sampled it, made sure it was up to par with what previous limited editions sounds like and went on with her life by signing off. I just seriously doubt she listened to ever cue, heard this, and was okay with it. And once again, rather than edit the announcement on their website or come here and say something, we're getting second hand info' from somebody who asked on their Facebook page. I think everybody here's class on How to do Business 101 would say to not let the purchasing consumer find out after-the-fact with second-hand info' from another purchasing member, issues.

I haven't stopped listening to this album from when I got it. So much great action music, Goldsmith kicked butt with this one!
