Miklós Rózsa Treasury Disc VII - All the Brothers Were Valiant
Like all the cues in the main program (especially tracks 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, 12, and 15), though not quite so fond of the Salinger/Green additions, even though I like what Salinger did with The Prisoner of Zenda and loving Green’s Raintree County score.
So in celebration of Christopher Nolan's 50th birthday.
"You might have to decide between seeing your children again and the future of the human race." Interstellar (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) - Hans Zimmer
This is easily Zimmer's best score to a Nolan film, which (meaning the movie) is underrated along with The Prestige from Nolan's filmography, imo. I don't really have a favorite track. I think every track on the album is pretty much essential. However, if I had to randomly pick one off the top of my head the cue "Stay", where Cooper makes a difficult decision to leave his family (particularly his daughter) to head into space to save Earth. Zimmer really nailed the heart of the film, which is basically a father trying to reunite with his daughter. The album is also well paced for 70+ minute, which doesn't become too repetitive for me.
