Can we talk about the next Bond release in this speculation thread? Please and thank you.

I'll be honest; much as I am impressed and excited by this PotA box set, I would have been more excited to get From the Earth to the Moon. I just don't think LLL/MV actually said or indicated anything that would have led us to believe it would be that title as their 500th release (aside from scheduling the 50th anniversary of the moon landing as their release date, but that was apparently unintentional and total coincidence).

Yes, you've said several times there were no clues given, so why keep bringing it up. Everyone's guess, educated or not, was based on interpreting MV's announcement, release date, and previous LLL releases (many big ones were anniversary releases). There's nothing ILLOGICAL by including an "anniversary" factor to any guess for any release. People have voiced this in many speculative threads. Given this was going to be a big release, and a memorable time of year, why not the Moon miniseries.
And if it had been that, I wonder if you'd be saying now, "I knew it would be this, the signs were all there." wink

why not the Moon miniseries?

No reason at all why not! (from me, anyway; from MV we know he didn't/doesn't consider it big enough for their 500th release)

Absolutely! I hope we get TND and GoldenEye soon. And if we're lucky, TSWLM.

I thought Lukas did say they had been preparing The Spy Who Loved Me for expansion when they were working on the 2003 remasters but they just didn't have time. So that means The Spy Who Loved Me is possible and I would welcome it too.

I want GoldenEye for one main reason, the John Altman Tank Chase cue which I keep going on and on about. Tomorrow Never Dies is just a fun score all around. I don't know what LLL's true plans are for Bond going forward so anything I say is just wishful thinking.

I would be down for a Bond every other month however I don't know how realistic that is. So the releases I'd like most to see are as follows -

GoldenEye
Tomorrow Never Dies
A View to a Kill
The Spy Who Loved Me
Octopussy.

I left out Moonraker because the masters are gone. A rerecording is the only way we'll get that score in full.

Which are on your folks' top five?

Lukas has corrected this many times -- they just couldn't find the Moonraker tapes when they looked back in the early 2000s; he has always said that that doesn't mean they are destroyed or lost for eternity; just that they would need to be located (and might be in France). They didn't have time or resources for an extensive search at the time back then.

See this one in the bottom right?

Beautiful.

It's the cover I was hoping for! I love that end credits image.

Ha! I was just now thinking it might be temporary as it's not all that flashy looking at it more (to put on my pretend exec hat for a moment). But it'd certainly make a great tray inlay image if nothing else.

I'd be happy eeeeither way.

....or, endless requests for the " Tank Chase " cue?

Correct.

Tapes were brought back to England following the recording sessions at Studios Davout in Paris.

I guess it does feel as though it "needs more red" in order to more accurately reflect the end credits image itself, but the choice of the Batman and Robin silhouettes is perfect!

Agreed. It also looks really distinctive when minimal just as is. Me likes. smile

Thank you for that. I had always assumed they had just been gone for good. Maybe they will pop up someday.
