Good afternoon! I am listening to the box set and it is amazing! I haven't listened to the entire set but was wondering if anyone knew if the Diagon Alley cue from the film is on this set somewhere? I recall the film version was different but didn't see it on here? Any help is appreciated! Hope everyone is having a nice holiday!
Listen to the last 2 minutes of the track "Through the Doors".
Agreed - THE best release of 2018 for me, in a year of superb releases and a few surprises (Williams’ Dracula). Thanks to everyone at LLL this truly is one I’ll be playing often and appreciating all the work that went into making this release possible each time I do.
Listening to this now. I spent the previous day just holding it, reading it, imprinting with it
I can only repeat what The Goblin said..."My God, It's Full Of Stars"
We 'John Williams' fans have been extremely lucky in the Box Set stakes. The Arista Box (Star Wars) The Superman Blue Box The Indiana Jones Collection The Jurassic Park 4 disc set Then the expansive 3 disc collections like Goodbye Mr Chips and A.I. and just this year, The Cowboys & Dracula getting gorgeous deluxe editions. I feel blessed to have lived not only through the John Williams years, but the times in which our labels have strived to enrich our lives with these gift sets of beauty. I thank you ALL!
Agreed, but the Indy box was a mixed blessing, and I hope LLL and MM will get a chance to revisit it at some point.

I'm sure INDY will get another go-around, especially as a 4th film was added and a 5th is on the way! But even so, I'm a 'glass half full' guy and the music in the box-set is much more substantial than what we had previously (certainly regarding 2 & 3). Add the fact that Raiders already had a nice upgrade (DCC) and we're spoilt, us Williams fans
Working my way through this gorgeous release, and I noticed something fun that only other Williams lunatics like me would appreciate.
On Disc 1, track 12, "The Journey to Hogwarts", there's a brief quote of a theme from Home Alone 2.
Starting at 1:04 there's a very Christmas-y section of the cue, and it concludes at 1:24 with the last 7 notes of the melody from "Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas" from Home Alone 2. Took me a couple of listens to remember why it was so familiar. Fun little Easter Egg there.
Does it includes the "reuse" of the Attack of the Clones action music in Chamber of Secrets? Does the booklet mention anything about that?
I noticed this when watching in the theater on original release. Not my favorite and it distracts every time I hear it (last night) or watch the movie (last week). No explanation, just another example of a composer reusing/retooling a theme for another score. Williams does it much less than others.
So much to like on these fantastic scores. This presentation is just exemplary - music, sound quality, extras, notes, all well done. Bravo.
Haven't bought this set yet (hoping to soon...$100 is a bit steep for present circumstances), but I've been listening to the original releases of these three.
I noticed another piece that Williams re-used: "No Ticket" from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I really wish I could remember which Potter score in which this happened, but it was so distracting because I kept thinking "I know this music! Oh, where do I know this from?"
Turns out it was so familiar because I'd just listened to Last Crusade a few days ago.
What do you mean? Oh just wonder about the story behind that specific reuse of music from Attack of the Clones. I remember both are from the same year (2002). I wonder if it was recorded again for Chambers or was a case of literal copy-paste.
