I know. He was very talented. He wrote the James Coburn Flint films in the same couple of years he wrote The Blue Max. My desert island soundtrack. Welcome to the Haunted Forest, Oz. It's actually scores 2 & 5 that are both by Leonard Rosenman. #4 (Conquest) is by Tom Scott, doing a very good job of blending with the overall vibe of the series with his follow up to Jerry's contemporary take on the material.

Goldsmith was famed for his ability to shift styles and approaches between pictures. That said, you can still hear a lot of his trademark techniques in Escape as well as him revisiting some material from the first Apes score... Yes, Goldsmith was very versatile... yet nevertheless, he was probably the first film composers whose music I immediately recognized whenever a movie on TV came on that he scored.

No MastraCustom, you are not complete. I believe there is a Project 3 Planet Of The Apes CD that is not pictured.

No MastraCustom, you are not complete. I believe there is a Project 3 Planet Of The Apes CD that is not pictured. Haha there's also an Intrada edition which expanded the program to include "The Hunt" and also had the best sound quality of any release (at least, before this box set anyway). Oh yeah...and there was also the initial single disc Intrada edition of TV series scores (three by Schifrin and one of Hagen's two). Yavar

Absolutely, the sound overall really opens up on the LLL release and they have all the correct echoplex overlays which were missing on the Varese edition. Agreed, it sounds fantastic! Like hearing the score for the first time. Which cues had incorrect echoplex overlays on the Varese release? Also, anyone notice the differences between the film version of the main title on track 1 and the album version on track 17? I had the Project 3 on vinyl but haven't listened to it in over 20 years or more so I don't remember what that sounded like. Just curious, is the version of the main title on track 17 the same as it was on the original LP?

No MastraCustom, you are not complete. I believe there is a Project 3 Planet Of The Apes CD that is not pictured. ... and the Intrada edition of POTA ! Aahahaha sorry, I didn't mean "complete" intended as "all editions", simply "my collection"... I don't need all releases, just the ones that let me feel finally satisfied about all music written for this saga

The box art is like the Blu Ray set. Is that the official Fox mandated art? It's nice art, I'm just wondering.
