Yavar Agreed. It's impossible to hear all the music written due to the editorial changes and it's a stunning Herrmann effort. A fresh digital recording and this time with correct performances would be essential. All these following versions listed below have something exciting to offer: 1) The Death Hunt (02:23) from CITIZEN KANE: The Classic Film Scores of Bernard Herrmann (Charles Gerhardt) 2) Suite (14:17) from BERNARD HERRMANN: The Essential Film Music Collection (Paul Bateman) 3) Death Hunt (02:12) THE NAKED AND THE DEAD * (William Stromberg) P.S. There is also a terrific performance of it by Essa Pekka Salonen only availble online on youtube. I don't see anyone from Intrada making much direct contribution to the thread. Maybe if they did, their input would inspire comments more to your liking.
