Reached out to MV via Instagram - he confirmed it's a typo. Vol.6 is the last.

Suuuuuure it is.

This is amazing. If there is any "essential" volume of this collection to buy, this is it. (Whatever disc had Charlie X on it comes close. So does Courage's second season library music.)

Just going by what was on the TOS Box: The two pilot scores sound SO good. There are a lot of discs where I'm told how bad they are and what a poor job was done (the 1997 Star Wars discs) and I'm fine with them. So with that base level set the difference between the 1980's / 1990's GNP discs and these is night and day.

I'm starting to wish that I had been buying these from the start. But that also seemed unfair to the people who never had the TOS Box, so I'm sitting pretty and I'll buy Bond's new book.

Here's my question. Was Vol. 7 a done deal when you started the 1701 collection or was a deal made after the 1701 sets were released?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm guessing that the first few sold so well that they decided mid-run to include the 7th volume. Just a hunch anyway.

We all have Lukas to thank as well as the amazing people at CBS and GNP who made this volume happen. As you all know, originally it was just 6 volumes, but Lukas worked his magic and got both parties to agree to let LLL release one final volume of the GNP controlled music.

Nicely played, LLL! Glad you were able to reach agreement with the folk at GNP.

I own the 15-CD box so haven't bought any of these but am starting to be gripped by the FOMO. Added to which it's my birthday month so maybe I should splurge a bit...

Also, I hope you have ready answers to the spine-obsessed FSM members who will demand to know what trinket you've selected to grace the spine of Vol. 7! ;-)

What agreement with GNP? This is the same as the 15CD box.

Ah, so that's how it happened. I woke up to this news in shock! LOL

Missing out on the original box set, I've bought each volume of this series on Day One and like everyone else, thought I was done after Volume 6.

I bought GNP releases back in the day, including their 3-disc box set. So that sits next to my six La La Land Records cases, which in my mind meant my collection was complete.

After reviewing the track list, I'm very happy to order Volume 7 to literally and finally COMPLETE this ... next generation edition ... of the box set.

Thank you, La La Land Records AND Lukas!

That's fantastic. I'm happy for those who thought they would miss out on those essential scores.

"I am most impressed by your performance in this crisis." smile

It's not just the Volume 7 that was "never" coming. It's also seeing a Star Trek TOS and a vintage James Bond CD debut on the same day. What a day around here.

You're very kind, but as we all know, there are over 400 people aboard a starship.

I'm particularly amazed (that is, pleasantly surprised) that there wasn't a price increase over the previous Volume 6. I felt certain that even if a new sublicensing arrangement could be made with GNP, LLL would have to charge $39.98 or something to cover their additional licensing costs.

Really happy for folks who weren't able to get the box but now can still finish their Trek collections.

Depends on the ship class. Take the U.S.S. Defiant...

(my inner nerd knows too much!)

So there is new music not in the box set.

So there is new music not in the box set.

The 2012 box set, taken together with the 50th Anniversary set, has everything, period, for TOS.

I just want to say thank you for releasing these volumes. I unfortunately missed the original box set so it's great to finally have these scores in my collection.
