I wonder what Goldsmith would do for this stupid movie, which has some hysterical action scenes nontheless.
Goldmith always delivered great score for trash movies like this one...

Simmonds drums and tick tock metronome synths as was the custom during the period.

Not a foregone conclusion, as THE 13TH WARRIOR, HOLLOW MAN and THE MUMMY would like to have a word with you.

This is by far one of Williams' worst scores.
Completely bland and unremarkable, no emotional punch whtasoever, the suspense/action tracks totally generic.

I blame the movie for this, since it is a utterly mess, with the worst cast choices of all time.
The conclusion is just ludicrous - the first time in history that we learn how the aliens invasors got defeated via a boring narration by a famous actor that is not even in the film!

Williams obviously felt the same and composed a score by the numbers, completely on auto pilot.

Are there any good posts from this guy ever?

Nope. He’s a piece of shit troll account, and considering he signed up in April, he’s likely someone who’s been banned before. Bruce Marshall? Yor? Running with Scissors? Danny?

I wonder if admins have an IPLogger function on their end. Two minutes of a look up followed by an email to the ISP abuse email would likely quash the kid for good.

I’m getting an unpleasant “Spinmeister” vibe, another cretin who delightfully vanished around the time this new puke arrived.

Can debate the merits or lack thereof of the movie and soundtrack - movie was ok and the soundtrack is not my favorite Williams. Your mileage will vary.

What is for certain is that this particular restoration and arrangement transforms this soundtrack from an inconsistent ho hum moment to a driving, effective experience. Not in any way the same OST. Still not my favorite Williams but I find myself drawn back to it time again. New transfer is powerful and sounds terrific.

Like the music or not, well done!!!

Yep this completely blows the old album out of the water. Presentation and sound quality are first-rate.

Oh yes, there are plenty of those.
One should look sharper.

Do not be so harsh on Leilah. She is just an angry person.
Careless parents, perhaps?

You may be onto something. Vaguely illiterate, poor sentence structure, targeted harassment that doesn't work and belies a frustration to that. Spinmeister was the same.

In this thread: "I bet Goldsmith would have written a good score for this."

But in THE LAST CASTLE thread, he's trashing Goldsmith for no sane reason. Incredibly blatant trolling/forum abuse.

I didn't say deffinatelybig grin the mummy and 13th were nostalgia trips. 13 the warrior was a rescore. It would have taken him longer to program his synths, than the time he had. With tongue in cheek . And as I am not a composer/musician I can make these comments freely smile

I'd forgotten that it was Williams who created the swoosh/death ray effect during the fleeing from the Intersection Scene.
Brilliantly terrifying stuff, especially when married to the visuals.
Absolutely loving this new edition (despite my disc one misfortune).

Every board needs a few "villains". It's the spice of life.

Red Leader: How many volts would you say, Red Five?

Red Five: Oh, I'd say about a billion.

I noticed some scratches on my disc one of this, but it seems to rip and play OK.

I also had scratches on my disc one. Intrada was nice and send me a replacement disc. Listening it now. Very good!

I was wondering: Is the eery sound that the tripod's make featured in the music?
