It gives me great pleasure to say that Basil Poledouris' iconic score from "Conan the Barbarian" is now available to pre-order (ships week commencing 9th May). Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, for many it was their first exposure to Arnold Schwarzenegger. With the movie featuring almost wall-to-wall music, this is a really must-have study score! The book includes every cue from the movie, plus various album edits and unused cues. The perfect companion to read along with the movie, or with the expanded Original Soundtrack release from Intrada. I have a few books of sheet music + lyrics published by Hal Leonard Corporation that I bought some time ago because I wanted to see the official copyrighted lyrics to some songs. Equally wouldn't riders of doom be more than nine lines a page. If instruments aren't playing anything, they're staves don't need to be printed out. Much of "Riders of Doom" is going to have many more staves, but in the last few bars, there aren't that many instruments playing. This format is the standard for published full scores (look at Dover or Boosey & Hawks editions). A conductor’s score will have all staves but that’s reserved for leading an orchestra from the podium. I remember some 20 years ago I thought "gee, would be nice to have a look at some of these film scores as printed scores", but never thought it would happen. Scores I'd have (figuratively, notliterally) would have killed for were STAR TREK - THE MOTION PICTURE and ALIEN. Curiously, I cannot find any shipping information. You have to go through part of the Checkout process. Two items show up at about 64$ and one single at about 21$.
