I thought this might be a fun little diversion for film music aficianados. If you think it's fun, try and guess the composer of the track I've posted. I think it may be a fun way to discover composers or just revisit ones you like. Then post a mystery track of your own. And go: https://soundcloud.com/user-335279397/mystery-track

OK, I cheated and used the Shazam app, so I won't say what it is yet to give others a chance. I guess you could say I'm "neutral" about this composer, bien sur, but I "may" give this one a listen. (And actually would love to see the old film, more so now that I'm listening to this music on Spotify. No may about it. So glad you posted this.) Bruce: plus, your Soundcloud account transitioned to Lion Tamer, a favorite song of mine (I was a teenage amateur magician when The Magic Show came to town back in the day). That led me to your Stephen Schwartz album, which I had completely missed but which is now wending it's way to me. Delightful!

No cheating now It does sound like Herrmann - and yet, it's not. Sean, read the story that goes along with Lion Tamer - I posted it on Soundcloud. Now, either others here don't like to have fun, are stumped but refuse to admit it, or are desperately trying to figure it out. Once revealed, I can make some reccomendations.

I have no idea, but Herrmann - Ghost and Mrs. Muir - did come to mind (briefly).

I have no idea, but Herrmann - Ghost and Mrs. Muir - did come to mind (briefly). I think Herrmann was influenced by this, frankly. He was a big fan of this composer. This one's not easy, certainly. Clew: This composer worked in film a lot, including some classic movies, but is mostly known for the concert hall.

I'm shocked! Just shocked that this piece wasn't part of Herrmann's Ghost. Did he have an older brother? No, but here's another clew: Herrmann did conduct this composer.

Sean, read the story that goes along with Lion Tamer - I posted it on Soundcloud. Thanks for pointing that out - I missed it the first time, Soundcloud was just playing in the background. Great story! I think I'm just gonna have to get your Produced by book (which is on Kindle I see - Jeez, am I living the digital life or what!). Folks, who are not even CLOSE by the way, my post had a couple of very oblique clews as well, if it'll help. RcM is getting warm. (And that's all I'm gonna say.)
