It was announced at the time of this year's newest Saw film score release, Jigsaw, that Charlie Clouser would also soon be releasing via Lakeshore Records two Anthologies of his Saw music encompassing all 8 films in the series thus far. CD and vinyl release dates are unknown at this point, but the anthologies are confirmed by the composer to be forthcoming and are not cancelled. The digital releases are scheduled to become available November 24, 2017.

Oh damn! Thanx for the heads-up. I've been keeping an eagle eye out for them on iTunes ever since they were announced and of course as soon as I take my eyes off of the prize they turn up.
I agree, I think "Carousel" is the #1 hardest track to live without from all 8 movies -- but also totally understandable, as time and space is at a premium and the track runs 7:58.
I'm disappointed that a lot of the softer, more ambient, dreamlike music isn't included. It would've made a nice balance to all of the thrashing histrionics and dark suspense and horror (as much as I love it). For example, the softer, ethereal tracks that I love along those lines that are missing:

Oh yeah Also the finale buildup to the "Let's Go"-track from Saw IV is awesome. But also here the running time of this track could be the Problem.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand the question. Do you mean the track "Jill Dream" from Saw 3D/Saw VII? That is an original track written for Saw 3D/Saw VII. What is the "following one" you refer to? Very often Clouser uses the same patches or sounds or loops, etc...but as far as I know there has never been any tracked music anywhere in the entire Saw series (although I have yet to see Saw VIII).

(disclaimer: I totally get that Clouser had a nightmare job trying to reduce this set down to 4cds of music, I do; any objections are purely jovial commentary and harmlessly wistful longing -- not in any way, shape, or form a complaint as I am beyond ecstatic to be able to enjoy these anthologies)
Man, Charlie took the knife to a lot of those tracks and some of those cuts are gonna hurt. I mean he cut deep. On the other hand, it should be noted, many tracks appear to have been edited together with other tracks, thus extending that track; for example, Saw III's "Footcuffed" was originally 2:40 but appears here as 4:26. Also, it's possible that Clouser could've taken one cue's title and used it for another cue (or collection of cues); for example, in Saw V, the original cue "What It Takes" ran 0:41 but here runs 4:31.
For those of you who are familiar with Saw music (you three in the back!), here are the tracks that I think will be most affected by edits, I fear adversely so, unless the music shows up elsewhere:

Yes, I suppose the same few people that actually listen to the music from the Saw movies (and love the shit out of it) will unsurprisingly tend to speak and write the same way too. I mean, it only makes sense. We probably walk with the same gait and sleep with the same number of pillows.

Downloaded these today and loving them! It's a fantastic collection. Clouser really picked kind of the best of the best. When I first looked at the tracklist for these, I was disappointed when I didn't see some of my favorites. However, to my surprise, much of the time they found their way into other tracks via editing. Clouser has been very creative with his edits and worked very hard at creating a great listening experience that tries to squeeze in as much great stuff from the series as imagineable. There are many other cues from the score that aren't evident in these Anthologies based on the tracklistings alone, so if you didn't see something included, chances are it may make at least an appearance.
For example, in Anthology 2's Saw VI track "Breathing Room," only the last minute or so of the 4:20 runtime was actually from the original 6-minute cue. The rest of the runtime of the Anthology's version of "Breathing Room" is also comprised of excerpts from other Saw VI cues "Fingerprints" and "Carousel." Obviously it's a shame that only about 1:30 of "Carousel" was included on the Anthology out of a possible 8 minutes, but now we know at least some of it survived and was, in fact, mercifully included on the release. Once (and if) you can get over the disappointment that your favorite tracks will not be represented in full on these Anthologies (for the most part), you can take comfort in knowing that instead, you get a hell of a lot more variety of material than the tracklist suggests -- and Clouser did an excellent job seamlessly blending everything together so that it flows well and sounds natural, even if you know it isn't. Another example is Anthology 1's "F*ck" This Sh*t" -- it takes some of the action music from two of the original soundtrack release's best tracks ("Out of Time" and "F*ck This Sh*t") and edits them together.
Clouser also debuted some brand new score from the first Saw score! The tracks "Sewer Runs," "How Did You Know," and "The Rules" are all completely never-before-released or available in any form whatsoever -- for those of you who are Saw music completists or are looking for more from the first movie than what was originally included on that soundtrack.

So here's a challenge for ya! Let's say you want to boil this material down even more, to maximum 45-50 minutes. I want the focus to be almost exclusively on the "dreamy" material (as you say), i.e. the calm textures, or those that have a more melodic or rhythmic consistency. But you might add a VERY few of the suspense/action cues for variety at strategic moments (I'm guessing perhaps 3 such tracks in total). Would this be possible, especially considering so many of the tracks are edited together?

That's possible. Unfortunately, not one single cue that I listed earlier in this thread (ambient, softer, dreamlike) have been selected for this compilation. So, if that was to be the focus of your attention, you'd come up short with a satisfying playlist. However, I could do my best with approximating it with the closest thing the Anthologies have to offer, plus tracks with "melodic or rhythmic consistency" are a little easier to come by without turning necessarily to action/suspense. Basically, I'll put together the "softest" version of what the Anthologies have to offer -- but being Saw, soft with an edge. It might not even come close to 45-50 minutes anyway.
Give me a few days on this one as the holidays are a-jumble!

Better late than never, Thor? I sincerely apologize for the delay.
Anyway, here is a playlist that I put together from the Anthologies that represents the more dreamier, softer, mysterious, spooky, and thematic elements. I did not include much that would be considered action/hardcore, just a quick burst here and there for variety, as you requested. However, in terms of suspense, I had to include a fair amount of that here because 1) the cues are edited together specifically for this release and in order to give you the sunshine I also had to give you the rain, and 2) Saw just has a lot of suspense! But I tried to "soften" the edge of the suspense by choosing more subdued suspense vs. overt, thundering, abrasive suspense.
Ultimately, and unfortunately for you, Clouser omitted his very best "dreamy/pretty" cues from these Anthologies. He omitted most of that kind of thing; it does make for a livelier album, if not a less varied one. So, this is the best I could do with what I was given. I did manage to provide a fair amount of the melodic and rhythmic consistency that you asked for.
I don't know if you'll like the playlist (I hope that you do) or if it's your kind of thing, but I tried to do my best to supply your demand. However, if you do enjoy the playlist I've created and want to hear more, Saw III would be your best bet; it's one of the best scores from the series (with the most variety) and is available for download. Most importantly, it features the lion's share of dreamy/pretty cues compared to the rest of the entries -- for example "Divorce," "Some Things," and "Daughter" (also "Baptism" which I've included from the Anthologies).
(I'm happy to provide you with these cues -- and more -- if you give me your email. They're also most certainly available on the Tube of You)
Even if there's not enough dreamy/pretty stuff to satisfy you, I hope you'll keep an open mind and enjoy the "delicious darkness" (with an edge), inventive instrumentation and sound design, badass beats, fun thematic ideas, and completely unique sonic personality not found elsewhere.
The playlist -- #1 "Zepp Six" and #22 "Just Begun Your Test" are the only tracks I included out of order, because they feature the most brilliant representations of the main theme and I personally think are great ways to kick off and finish off the playlist.
