For those who would like some strong hints as to what Intrada's release next week will be, go to this link

On November 20, Varese Sarabande will release XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS - 20TH ANNIVERSARY ANTHOLOGY, a limited edition boxed-set containing the seven CDs the label previously released of Joseph LoDuca's music for the popular fantasy adventure TV series, including new liner notes and a flag (yes, a flag). The label also plans to announce their new CD Club releases this coming Monday but warns "no grails or Deluxe Editions."

Though it's difficult to find a theater playing it and even more difficult to find it playing in its intended 3D format, LOVE, the new hardcore sex drama from director-provocateur Gaspar Noe (I Stand Alone, Irreversible, Enter the Void), has a little treat for film music fans who enjoy their favorite themes popping up in random places -- a scene in a sex club fairly late in the film features John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13 theme playing on the speakers. Vive la France!

DID THEY MENTION THE MUSIC?

SAINT LAURENT - Bertrand Bonello

"Tech credits, as ever with Bonello, are mouth-wateringly accomplished, ensuring that its subject suffers as beautifully as possible from first scene to last. Cinematographer Josee Deshaies lights the film as shimmeringly in its neon-night club scenes as in more intimate glimpses from Saint Laurent’s gilded apartment, suggesting that no small moment of his life was ever left entirely undesigned. Bonello’s musical choices, meanwhile, range from soaring if over-familiar opera cues to Creedence Clearwater Revival to occasional Moroder-esque synths on his self-composed score."

Guy Lodge, Variety
