La-La Land announced four new releases last week in their end-of year "Black Friday" batch: an 8-disc set of all four of the LETHAL WEAPON scores by Michael Kamen, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn, featuring both the full scores and original soundtrack sequencing for the first three as well as the first ever release of the final score in the series; Dimitri Tiomkin's score for the John Sturges' Western GUNFIGHT AT THE O.K. CORRAL, teaming Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas; Robert Folk's score for the first film in the POLICE ACADEMY franchise; and an expanded, two-disc version of John Ottman's score for SUPERMAN RETURNS. The label also currently has autographed copies of the two-disc set of Bear McCreary's DEFIANCE.

Kritzerland has just announced three new CDs -- the first ever release of two scores for Humphrey Bogart comedies from Paramount, both composed by Frederick Hollander, SABRINA and WE'RE NO ANGELS; JOHN WAYNE AT FOX - THE WESTERNS, featuring remastered versions of three previously released scores -- THE COMANCHEROS by Elmer Bernstein, NORTH TO ALASKA by Lionel Newman, and THE UNDEFEATED by Hugo Montenegro; and a re-release of the label's long out-of-print CD of two TV Christmas musicals by none other than Bernard Herrmann -- A CHRISTMAS CAROL and A CHILD IS BORN.

Quartet has announced three new CDs -- an archival release of the original score tracks from Miklos Rozsa's THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, taken from a variety of sources; an expanded version of Maurice Jarre's Oscar-winning score for David Lean's final film, A PASSAGE TO INDIA; and a two-disc, expanded version of Lee Holddridge's score for the 1982 cult fantasy adventure hit THE BEASTMASTER, which is probably showing on cable as you read this.

Varese Sarabande will announce their long-awaited new batch of CD Club releases this coming Monday, December 9th. The label has also announced a January 14 release date for Christopher Lennertz' score for the upcoming cop comedy RIDE ALONG, pairing Ice T and Kevin Hart.
