Welcome to the 6th Annual FSM Holiday CD Gift Exchange!
If you haven't participated in previous years, please read the rules & regs thoroughly to see how it'll play out.
1. To be eligible to participate in this year's gift exchange, you must have registered as a member of this message board prior to November 5, 2013.
2. If you are eligible and willing to participate, please post a reply in this thread by Friday, November 22nd, 2012, 6:00 p.m. PST, and be sure to include an e-mail address in your post if it isn't visible in your profile. If you haven’t provided your email address by the time the drawing takes place, you will not be able to participate in the gift exchange.
3. On Saturday, November 23rd, 2013, at approximately 6:30 p.m. PST, I will put all of the participants' names into a hat, and Mrs. Claus (my wonderful wife, Holly) will draw names. I'll then post a numbered list of all participants in the order in which they were drawn. Person #1 on the list will buy a gift for person #2, person #2 will buy a gift for person #3, etc. The last person on the list will buy a gift for person #1.
4. Once the gifting order is determined, each participant should promptly e-mail their wish list and mailing address to their designated gifter. If you'd prefer your gift to be a surprise, include multiple titles in your list and/or allow your gifter to choose a title at their own discretion. Gifters should reply to their gifter promptly to confirm receipt of the wish list.
5. You must be willing to ship internationally, as we FSMers are scattered across the globe. Please note that USPS postage rates have increased since last year.
6. The suggested spending limit is $20 (not including shipping). Gifters should order promptly to ensure delivery before the holidays. If you order the gift online, you should have it shipped from the website directly to the recipient to save time and money.
7. Only join if you're going to follow through and send a gift to your assigned recipient. There are few things in the world more uncool than flaking out on a gift exchange.
8. If you aren't able to establish contact with your gifter/giftee within three days of the drawing on November 23, please let me know so that I can follow up your behalf, and if necessary, remove him or her from the list of participants.
I know it's hard, but try to wait until Christmas to open your gift. It's more fun that way.
