Kilar's Dracula Morricone's The Thing Williams' Dracula Carlos' The Shining Goldenthal's Interview with the Vampire Schifrin's Amityville Horror Banos' Evil Dead (best 2013 score IMO) Herrmann's Psycho Goldsmith's Poltergeist ***** Classical music would include Danse Macabre (Saint Saens) Symphony Fantastique (Berlioz) Black Angels (Crumb) Ligeti's REQUIEM (scariest music ever)

I love these cue lists. I've only had a chance to listen to one suggestion so far (dance of the witches) and I've already ordered The Witches Of Eastwick. Can't wait to check out the rest!

Speaking of Halloween playlists, isn't this about the time we start anticipating spooky releases from Intrada, LLL and the like? Any ideas? I'm still stuck on SALEM'S LOT from last year...what a set. I'm not sure whether these labels necessarily release horror-themed scores around Halloween any more than they do any other time of the year, but last year LLL certainly surprised me with two incredible, unexpected October releases: Black Beauty and Day of the Dead. (I know Black Beauty isn't horror, but it does make me think of autumn, perhaps because I have a fond memory of first listening to LLL's release while walking my sister's dogs through the local cemetery.) What do I—realistically—hope will arrive this October? A complete compilation of the music from Romero's Dawn of the Dead sure would be nice. Not sure how realistic of a hope that is, though. I'm glad you brought this thread up since I was planning on starting/reanimating a similar thread as we neared October: what will you be listening to as you gear up for Halloween? We're midway through September now and it's never too early, in my book, to begin planning for Halloween. Here's some of what I plan to play through October: Alien - Jerry Goldsmith Batman Forever - Elliot Goldenthal Black Beauty - Danny Elfman Day of the Dead - John Harrison Escape from L.A. - John Carpenter & Shirley Walker Evil Dead - Roque Baños John Carpenter's The Fog - errr... Godzilla '14 - Alexandre Desplat House of Usher - Les Baxter I Am Legend - James Newton Howard King Kong - James Newton Howard Scream - Marco Beltrami The X-Files - Mark Snow

Can anyone recommend fun tracks to play at a Halloween party? I thought the BEETLEJUICE main theme and "This is Halloween" from NIGHTMARE would be fun, interspersed between regular pop songs like "Spirit Got Lost" by Mental As Anything" and "Monster Mash". I don't want my guests to run screaming after playing the theme from THE OMEN! Horror pop song recommendations are welcomed, too. I'd recommend throwing in some easter eggs for sharp-eared horror film fans at your party. Songs like "Hush" by Kula Shaker, "Hip to be Square" by Huey Lewis & The News, and "The Blue Wrath" by I Monster.
