Brian has officially signed on to score the upcoming action sequel Fast & Furious 7.
The film is directed by James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious, Saw) and stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster and Lucas Black who all reprise their roles from the previous films in the series. They are joined by new cast members including Kurt Russell, Ronda Rousey, Djimon Hounsou and Jason Statham.
The movie is set to take place in Los Angeles for the first time since the 2000 original film. Chris Morgan (Wanted) who penned the last four installments for the franchise is writing the screenplay and Neal Moritz (21 Jump Street, I Am Legend) returns as the producer of the project.
Brian has previously scored three parts in the series, including 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, 2009's Fast & Furious and 2011's Fast Five.
Fast & Furious 7 is set to be released on July 11, 2014 by Universal Pictures.
According to Variety, Universal Pictures has moved up the release date of it's next installment in the "Fast and Furious" franchise from April 10 to April 3.
There's no real competition in April 2015, it looks like they just want an extra week of box office dominance before they get knocked out of the multiplexes by Avengers in May.
Part 7??? SEVEN!!!!????? Seven episodes of something there shouldn't even have been one??!!! How many more times can this mumbling billiard ball and the female Christophe Lambert who looks through her eye brows go on doing this infantile bilge. This series is the epitomy of what is wrong with Hollywood in general and blockbusters in particular. Everyone yells at Transfomers but they leave this out of it? God how I hate this car crash bilge.

This is not a great series, nor one that's particularly to my taste, but it is more than "car crash bilge". After the first couple director Justin Lin took the reins (the wheel?) and turned it into a large ensemble heist series more akin to "Ocean's 11" on steroids than to Transformers. The stunts and setpieces have gotten increasingly ludicrous but they are usually also pretty breathtaking when they don't go overboard. (This is not a series that shies from going overboard.) And while the series is pretty shallow, it at least pretends to (and sometimes actually has) a heart and thematic core in its ongoing emphasis on the importance of the family you build.
Or, instead of thinking of it as endless sequels, think of it like this:
The first one, the crappy sequel, Then Justin Lin made a tangentially related movie and followed up with a trilogy that provided context to turn the tangent into a coda. And now James Wan is working on a trilogy, unless plans have changed since Walker's death.

D.S.
Nobody forces you to watch it. And your rant seems more infantile than this franchise, which it has evolved from your typical undercover cop/street racer film, to a unique action franchise that doesn't sacrifice story and heart for mindless action (Even with the last film having some unlogical scenes).
And nothing is wrong with Hollywood and blockbusters (even with all the problems they have). People like you are more the problem. Grow up.
