I wonder what kind of films Newman, Herrmann, Mancini, Friedhofer, et al, are composing in the afterlife?

Ya think Friedhofer would envy scoring a Vin Diesel action flick called: XXX

?

How about Alfred Newman scoring JET LI and MIRA SORVINO in THE REPLACEMENT KILLERS?

What about Henry Mancini taking the baton to AUSTIN POWERS in GOLDMEMBER?

Talk about turning over in the grave!

XXX? There's no shortage of composers who're perfectly happy scoring films in return for big $$$.

I'm sure that many of the decomposing composers would love to be back composing compositions to change some of the decompositions composed by some living "decomposers" composed for some films today..Decomposition, however , has made composition impossible..

ANZALDIMAN,

I talked to my girlfriend and she says that the cemetary where Bernard Herrmann is buried is 2 blocks away from her old house in Elmont.

We may organize a group to pay our respects and bring some flowers. Anyone know what flowers I should bring?

This thread title reminds me of an unpublished Far Side cartoon where you see a dead guy lying face-down on the keys of his piano, and someone in the other room is saying to his guests, "Shhh! The maestro is decomposing!" big grin

I was going to post that cartoon in this thread, actually, but I couldn't find it online anywhere. Perhaps I should have looked harder...
