At some point around 2009, I think, when the movie had an anniversary deluxe 2-disc DVD release...

Close! It was 2006 (had to check myself), when Sony Wonder put out the two disc set.

I echo the other's Rocky IV referencing. If you like one you'll love the other. Same DiCola blend of rock and synthesizers with over the top action and drama.

It was of a time and place.
But I cannot listen to it anymore.

He seems like a really nice guy though.

He talked about trying to get some work with Jablonsky on Transformers and getting turned down, it was kind of sad.

[edit] I am a little puzzled by the article which says "It's safe to assume the score will be similar to the BotCon 1997 exclusive CD that was released, featuring some of the background score and alternate pieces. ". The album was available to order online from 3H's website, along with the score album as "Lighting Their Darkest Hour", and had all of the background score not some of it.

The original BotCon release (Til All Are One') did NOT have the three score tracks that were on the OST. The 2001 release did, but it doesn't include the Legacy piece like the BotCon one did (either for space reasons, or because it was on the other CD with the other demo-y stuff)

Oops, yes. Forgot about those 3 tracks, I have them sequenced in already in iTunes. Regardless, that is somewhat more complete than "some of the background score"

Great. Just great.

So my two unopened/still in shrink-wrap mint copies of "Till All Are One" -- sitting in my closet since 1997 -- are now worthless? >:^(

With an official release upcoming, _now_ how am I supposed to fund my retirement ?!?!?

Great news! I have owned a CDR with the score for years, but just reading the liner notes would be reason enough to buy the Intrada disc, I guess,

I also have the Botcon promo (97?) that has the unreleased music score + the original sdtk on CD.

Sooo I might bite the bullet and purchase Intrada's release.

It's coming in January. Found this on Vince Dicola's Facebook;

My Transformers score is currently scheduled to be released by Intrada/Sony in early January. Stay tuned for a firm date.

I'm a fan of Dicola's Rocky IV score too, so if it is similar in sound as previously stated I know I'll enjoy this.

It is, especially with Unicron's theme.

Great!

I only have a connection to the tv series (part of my childhood nostalgia), and never seen the movie, but I've always liked DiCola's work on ROCKY IV, so if this is more of the same, I'm game.

It sounds somewhat like Rocky 4 part 2. Lots of themes, it sounds like mr. Dicola had tons of ideas for this score.
I hope it also includes the demos that were part of another Botcon cd.
