David Newman did an amazing last minute replacement job, writing around 70 minutes of score in a super short amount of time and still comming up with some very lovely music. This score is just wonderful. It was done during Newman`s super creative period (mid 80s to the early 2000s). It has a lot of romantic-jazzy moments reminiscent of the romantic music of Newman`s OTHER PEOPLE`S MONEY (another score that needs to be released) but also a lot of great suspense and action material. The original Varese CD leaves off most of the action material and truly doesn`t do this score justice at all. Btw, the movie isn`t that bad either.
Yeah, I love this score too. I think it plays well at the album's length... I've heard the longer b*** that's floating around the internet, and the I feel that the OST did a good job of presenting the best material.
That said, the disc seems a little hard to find and could absolutely use some remastering.
