Awesome! I just downloaded the two (SD) pilots from iTunes a few weeks ago. I'll wait on the rest until the HD versions are available. Thxs for the heads up.

Potential impact of thread ruined by lame-ass third season theme and horrible fashion aesthetics that coincided with third season, e.g. Marta Kristin's hair and make-up.

I'll save my money.

FAIL.

The image may be sharper but it's definitely darker. I have the same thing with the Captain Scarlet DVDs. A large amount of image information is lost, for example where you could see a switch before you now just see blackness.
I have the DVD-set of the wonderful "Honey West" series (highly recommended) and it contains a comparison, and the only difference I can see makes me go "ah that's the upgrade" only to find out that I chose the "before" version.
I can't imagine that LIS was ever that dark in image.

That said, I can always do with a sharper image. I need references for Moebius' LIS space pod.

These images were done a couple of years ago as a test....I'm sure any official release won't be that dark. YOUTUBE compression ruins HD quality.

I was looking at the 2003 failed reboot of Lost in Space. Kinda looked alright, the sets are pretty nice. http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Dustin03Comics/news/?a=30250

Thank you for posting this, I'm rather excited by the restoration work they've done on this (though not convinced by the 1.78 aspect ration).

Oh yes, my favourite looney show in HD, the DVD's are very sub-par, I don't even mind 16:9.

Yeah, the HD Master looks a little dark - I have the DVD sets, but still need to watch them.

They show LIS on METV on Saturday nights at 8PM and the episodes look okay, but seem to be edited...:-(

I'm watching them on METV. They do seem edited which is strange because there are hardly any commercials the first half hour. But at times the edits are quite obvious.

METV also likes to "speed up" some of their shows, like HAWAII FIVE-0 so they can extend those stupid insurance and lawyer commercials - I pretty much gave up on watching H50 on METV because of this - watching the episodes on my DVD sets is MUCH better...

Which episodes have the Space pod in them? Most of all the interior.
I want to light the model I'm making but to program the arduino correctly I need to know which lights blink and in what patern.

Images are from the Paragrafix website but it's what I'm going for with added to that blinking.

Time-compressed. I HATE it when they do that.
Most stations compress shows so much that it is immediately audible in the background music.
Idiots.

Yeah, the FIVE-0 theme on METV almost sounds rather cartoon-like.

...as soon as I heard it, I knew what I was in for and changed the channel...:-(

Hmm, METV is one of the those channels I CAN stand. Limited commercial breaks, no ads superimposed over the programming and they show the end credits in normal time. It's as close to retro television one can get nowadays. Haven't seen H50 so can't comment on that. But I am quite satisfied with the programming Ive seen on there.

I cut my cable about 6 months ago and, as one might expect, the only thing I really miss is TCM and Robert Osborne.

By the way, good luck Stu with your Space Pod. I've had the Polar Lights J2 for years and still haven't worked up the courage to tackle it yet.
