Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! I've always loved his music for the series and have bought 3 of the soundtracks and debating about buying the 4th. I'm sure that it's been controversial that he stuck primarily to the same themes he created for the first season, but that has never bothered me and I felt that it added a consistency to it. Plus, with my 7.1 surround system, his music has always souned fantastic. Thank you!
And it's worth repeating this from star and producer and occasional director Michael C. Hall: “Dan creates the aural landscape that sets the tone for us. I feel like it’s a fundamental part, as much as any character.” I totally agree, and, frankly, would have hated to have heard all new music in subsequent seasons. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
I really thought the last ten to fifteen minutes of the series finale was beautifully scored. The music in the scenes of Dexter and Deb in the hospital and on the boat was just poignant.
