With all the hundreds of Morricone scoes out there on CD to have a premiere release, a score that has never been released before....

AND melodic at that, is momentous!

Not a lot out there left that hasn't been and that is still in releasable shape.

What a relief from the endless extended and re-releases.

It's 2001 so no "new" vintage score such as H2S, Arabella or Roma Come Chicago but nevertheless it is a great news! Definitely going to be ordered soon.

I prefer the vintage ones, but it is true that expanded releases with only one alternate mix or re-issues of Japanese imports are not too exciting. I would much prefer to hear unreleased vintage works by other composers -- especially since GDM is the only label doing non-CAM productions these days.

By the way, there are other new releases in this batch : Due Fratelli in un Posto Chiamato Trinita and L'eredità Ferramonti!

Looking forward to hearing this one, for sure. White Dawn, True Grit and now La Ragion Pura. A strong release announcement day. smile

This is a rarely-spoken-about true Ennio gem. Wonderful music.

But i have a query. Last couple of tracks on download i heard have like a scratchy distortion in the background - what could be described as "needle noise" i guess. Has anyone else got this on their copy?

Can't answer your query, Bill, but this is one of the scores I acquired after my earlier thread here about recommendations for lyrical Morricone scores. About a year ago now, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it since. Wonderful score.

There doesn't seem to be any on the cd.
