DYNASTY is a big part of my childhood. Back then, we only had ONE TV channel in Norway, and so we had little choice in what we wanted to see. I followed the soap with my mom.
As for the music, I can't really remember much of the underscore. But the main theme is -- as you say -- wonderful and I actually did a small 'analysis' of it in a thread I can't find. It was a funny thread -- I was kinda showing off whatever new academic terms and tools I was studying at the time. LOL!
Anyways, yeah -- I'd be willing to give a DYNASTY release a listen!
The Dynasty main title is really great. I play it along with a bunch of other period TV themes on TELEVISION'S GREATEST HITS: 70s & 80s. It's a good CD.
Cool Disco Stu! And I agree with you, while DYNASTY is a great theme, FALCON CREST is even better. BTW, have you been listening to Intrada's ROCKY IV? It's a great album. I just hope the rest of the ROCKY scores are released too someday.

We're on a great vibe here!
When during my lunchbreak I read on this forum that the album with the original film music finallly had come out I had the biggest trouble to not shout out with joy and scare my colleagues to death.
I had been wishing for that album ever since I became aware of the great in 1996. The music during the training montages and the running up the hill scene are my favourites. It requires the original song album and the new movie soundtack album to make that last one like the film but now at least I can listen to it out loud without all the grunting that I had to listen to for at least 10 years. Oh the looks I got from people who thought I was watching some extrame gay porn scenes.
Oh and that "Happy birthday Paulie" robot score is fun too.
I love the Conti Rockies but the Rocky 4 soundtrack has a very special place with me as I associate it with the best two years of my life (same goes for the Rambo soundtrack).

I also have fond memories of 1985 and 1986. I was only 8 and 9, but some of my favorite movies, MAD MAX BEYOND THUNDERDOME and BACK TO THE FUTURE came out then.

I prefer the one on T.V.T.'s 2 C.D. set "All Time 100 Great T.V. Themes" (which is from the series' first season) much better.
