As part of their big epic miniseries season, Starz Encore will be showing the original V miniseries on Sunday 3rd November, followed a week later by V The Final Battle.

Enjoying the repeats of V, not seen this in years. Actually forgot how good this miniseries was. Nice to see it in HD. Love to see a Blu Ray release of both miniseries one day.

A few years ago when the (terrible) ABC remake series was premiering, Syfy ran a marathon of the originals. It was the first time I'd seen them since I was a kid, but I really enjoyed them.

I haven't read it yet, but in 2008, creator Kenneth Johnson published a sequel novel, V: The Second Generation, which is set twenty years after the first mini-series. It ignores The Final Battle (and the following short-lived TV series), which Johnson had problems with due to network interference, so he wrote the novel as his true sequel.

I haven't seen the miniseries in years....time to catch a repeat...

If I remember correctly, Johnson tried to get the "Second Generation" off the ground as a TV project, but was beset by problems from minute one and it never got even close to getting off the ground.....shame, I would have liked to have seen Johnson's follow-up, and it would certainly have been better than the lacklustre (but still watchable, I feel) remake we got.

I have to confess I actually liked the ABC remake series and was disappointed with the cancellation, I know it wasn't popular. Of the original series I've only seen a handful of episodes, but as a Robert Englund fan I do want to check out the show.
