THURSDAY, AUGUST 29

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII---Rachel Hurd-Wood (PETER PAN) is the first actress to test for the role of Princess Leia's daughter according to a reliable source who, "got it confirmed via representation and other solid sources". Alex Pettyfer (MAGIC MIKE) has supposedly tested for the role of Luke Skywalker's son.

NCIS---executive producer Gary Glasberg said the first two episodes of Season 11, which begins on September 24, will be about Ziva's departure from NCIS, "[Ziva's] whole story arc unfolds through the first episode, and then Cote/Ziva plays very prominently in the second one. There's a really significant Tony/Ziva payoff - everything I hope the Tiva fans have been waiting for. It gives us some insight into this decision that she's going to make. It's exciting. And it's romantic."
He added the third episode will have, "... a woman in her 50s who is a few days away from retirement and just needs to fill the desk time before bringing in Ziva's replacement. She, in theory, knew Gibbs all the way back to the days of Mike Franks. So we're going to bring in people like that and have some fun with the different characters. And then, hopefully, when people are comfortable enough, one will walk in the be The One."
Also, CBS released a trailer of Ziva's departure.

So I assume Leia's daughter, and Luke's son are going to hit it off? razz
And why does Leia have to have a daughter, and Luke a son? I would have switched that around.

Alex Pettyfer is way too male model - a very handsome guy - too much so, but not that great an actor. You would think that they would have learned from Hayden Christensen, also really male model handsome, but cannot act.

Watch Hayden in Life As A House, I think he did a wonderful job in it.

Hmmm. So his fall from grace had nothing to do with the fact that even his best films(Conan the Mediocre Barbarian) were not very well written and with too much over the top machismo and corny dialogue.

A retired Atlanta film critic wrote when Red Dawn came out, that somewhere inside of him a great movie was there. Unfortunately I never saw it.

I wonder if they're going to follow the established continuity from the novels (which supposedly are canon, if not quite as strictly so as the movies). In the books, Han and Leia have twins (boy and girl) and another son. Luke has a son of his own (with Mara Jade).

Their twins are named Jacen and Jaina. Apparently one of them (Jacen I think) ends up becoming a Sith Lord...not sure of all details, I stopped reading the novels after awhile. Their other son is named Anakin, and Luke's son is named Ben.

Yes because the man who penned Apocalypse Now and The Wind and the Lion can't write, you rube.

I'd also recomend the excellent "Shattered Glass," an example of lucky casting, wherein the performer's particular irritating qualities happen to suit the (real-life-character) role perfectly--not because he's anything like the real guy, or even tries to be, but because you WANT to dislike the character, and Hayden sure knows how to accomplish that.

They shot a lot of communists in it... that's good enough for me.
