I remember when I saw the trailer credits back in May say Back Lot was releasing it. I wish trailers would more properly describe releases, since downloads are becoming so prevelant. "Physical soundtrack available on __________" "Digitial soundtrack available on __________" I guess Varese isn't stepping in this time. TCoR was one of Revell's better scores.

Ugh, every other franchise goes through multiple composers, but we're still stuck with Revell for this one. I'd even settle for Brian Tyler; at least then we'd get a little power and OOMPH in the orchestra, maybe a half-way decent memorable theme. I will try to reserve judgment until I see the film, but as of right now Revell is 0-for-2... I feel like Revell has done more than 2 scores in his career, but maybe I am mis-remembering. Pretty sure he meant as far as the 2 prior Riddick films.

I remember when I saw the trailer credits back in May say Back Lot was releasing it. I wish trailers would more properly describe releases, since downloads are becoming so prevelant. "Physical soundtrack available on __________" "Digitial soundtrack available on __________" Yeah, like we need more words underneath the credits these days. Or are you wanting them to make a special trailer just for the less-than-1% of the population who cares about this niche market and also physical media? "Digital soundtrack available on Walt Disney Records" "Physical soundtrack with exclusive bonus track not found on the download version available on Intrada several weeks later but pre-order is available for this title day-and-date with the digital download version which is of course missing the exclusive bonus track but is otherwise the same music only in a lossy file format because if you're really wanting the music right now you will pay for the convenience and won't mind a barely-noticeable degradation of sound quality besides the fact that it will be mastered way too loudly anyway and that doesn't seem to bother you just so long as it's on a pressed compact disc and not one or two easy clicks of a mouse away because it's not really so much about the music as it about having stuff and don't we all like having stuff." That just isn't going to fit on most posters or modern television screens. Why not just have it read, "Suck it up, nerds. It's digital or nothing at all. Take your pick. Walt Disney Records."

I will try to reserve judgment until I see the film, but as of right now Revell is 0-for-2... I have to disagree. The Riddick theme is great, either in its electronic or orchestral guise. Granted, Revell's works can be pretty generic, but when working with some directors he can produce memorable scores (David Twohy's movies, The Crow, The Siege, Negotiator) and even a truly refreshing little gem like Out of Time. Plus the great songs in Red Planet (and I don't usually like songs).

a truly refreshing little gem like Out of Time YES! I love that score, probably my favorite Revell score along with Aeon Flux and Darfur Now. Those seeking an antidote to Revell's "generic" or otherwise bland and unmemorable entries in his career would do well to check out Darfur Now or Out of Time. The second is represented on disc poorly with too many remixes (althought the main theme guitar mix is sublime) but is still fantastic.

Hopefully another label will pick it up -- if it's as good as TCoR. No clip on the agency site Kraft-Engel, and he no longer has a website (GraemeRevell.com just redirects to his IMDb page).
