Wasn't Dare Devil painful enough? Lawn dwarfs have more personality than him.

So much internet has exploded over this, and I've already had links to a Change.org petition to remove Affleck...I mean - seriously?? Do people only remember the shit movies he's been in?? All the other Batmen were in their fair share of stinkers too! Affleck's a good choice...wouldn't have been in my personal top 10 fanboy wish-list but wouldn't have been in the bottom few thousand either...a coveted role - good luck Mr A!

I have this weird thing about Affleck. I don't care much for his acting chops, but at the same time he seems like in real life he'd be a gas to hang out with. A "real" person.

Yet when I watch his flicks, I'm always very aware that he's just reciting lines. And the more thespian he tries to be, the more obvious it seems.

But I'm odd.

Really bad news.

But I'm not that obsessive over BATMAN to get my knickers in a twist about it.

Craig would have been a really good Batman. Unfortunately, his involvement with Bond would be a serious hindrance for the casting people.

Idris Elba ... if only!

DAREDEVIL director's cut is actually pretty good, IMO. Batman and Daredevil are kinda similar except for the blindness.

I'm not mad about Ben Affleck playing Batman in the 2015 Man of Steel/Superman sequel for 2 reasons:

1. It shouldn't be Christian Bale. It would have undermined the "trilogy" (beginning, middle, end) nature of the Nolan films, and by having Bale's Batman exist in the same universe as Superman, it also would have undermined the semi-realistic nature of that trilogy by throwing the character into a universe with aliens.

2. Ben Affleck is not the same actor he was 10 years ago when he did Daredevil, Gigli, and Armageddon. Since playing the "pretty-boy" roles*, he has matured and moved on to roles like The Town and Argo, which showcase his more serious and angst-driven side. Face it, he has the acting range to tackle Batman/Bruce Wayne whether you like him or not.

I'm not saying he'll be a GREAT Batman, but since there is literally no footage available at this time, it is ignorant to dismiss him beforehand. I'm not sure that having a big-name actor play Batman was the best idea, but they could have certainly done worse.

I agree with this statement by director Zack Snyder: "Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry's Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne."

*To be fair, the R-rated Daredevil: Director's Cut was 10X better than the PG-13 crap that everyone saw. Aaaaaand cue the disagreeing replies...

Ben Affleck'll be fine. It Zach Snyder I'm worried about.

I love the two Michael Keaton films, but I don't care for any of the others, as for Ben Afflect, he'd be no worse than Christian Bale.

^^^^

I was happy hearing about Ben Affleck casting, I think that everything he's done post-Bennifer has been really great. If we're in for another movie like Man of Steel, I'm significantly less excited.

It is not only a big casting blunder in terms of Ben being a middling actor at best, it is also just a plain not interesting or exciting casting choice as well. Warner Brothers is playing all inside baseball on this, because it is all about money and inside Hollywood stuff. They could have picked any number of more interesting people, and better actors.

On the other hand. I would expect the picture to be an extremely overly expensive bloated thing laden with non sensical action and edits like Znyder loves, so the actors are basically furniture to him anyway. So in theory he could have cast Adam Sandler and it would not have mattered much.

While I like him as a director, Affleck is a bad, bad actor.

But then Man Of Steel was a bad, bad film.

Two bad tastes that make waste, together?

What is really sad is that they will spend about $250 million making this piece of toilet paper.
