Pretty certain I've heard the LaLa Land Records folks say Batman & Robin is not going to happen.
Batman & Robin and Alien 3 are both high on my wanted list, but MV has said that both are difficult for various reasons. But then LLL have also released other titles which have previously been said to be unlikely. So I remain hopeful that one day they might happen.
On this 50th Anniversary of the first broadcast of "Lost in Space", thanks So Much to La-La Land Records for the wonderful 40th Anniversary album. Classic!
I was just looking back at this old thread! It was cool to hear MV's thoughts on his favorite release.
I wanna add to my list now that time has passed. Lethal Weapon series and The Peacemaker. I've really loved these releases. Especially Lethal Weapon 4. I'm so glad to finally have this score in full. I honestly thought it was never going to come.
- The Mechanic - Star Trek V (a lot better than Intrada's) - Dragonslayer - Wizards - The Warriors - ST-TMP - ST TOS box set - STDS9 - STNG vol. 1 (how long for vol. 2?) - Warning Shot - Solaris - All BSG releases!!!!!! - Copernicus Star (beautiful) - Crysis II (stunning Zimmer!) - Jane Eyre & The Fury & 1941 - Friday 13th box set - The Lone Gunmen & Millenium & X-Files box set - All Danny Elfman Expanded Archival releases - MOH box set etc. etc.
Loren, it might have been easier to just link to their entire catalogue.
I know what you mean, it's not easy. For me, though, nothing will ever top the STAR TREK Original Series box set. From the time I was about 10 years old (38 years ago, ugh) it's the soundtrack music I've most wanted in complete form. After that it would be the FRIDAY THE 13TH box set, which is music I'd be wanting since I was about 18 years old. Everything else is just awesome, tasty gravy - much of which has been served on a platter to us by LaLaLand!
At the very top of my list is the classic Victor Young score for SHANE. In fact, as a movie , SHANE was the greatest western ever made.
I picked it and the Blu-ray up precisely because of its reputation, and I do love westerns. Looking forward to spending some time on both the movie and the soundtrack soon. Fall is always a great time to watch movies, when the weather isn't as tempting to be out in.
It's hard to pick just one, so here are a few (in no particular order):
-Star Trek: TMP (up till then, my holiest holy grail) -Star Trek V (always nice to wake up to an announcement like this!) -The Naked Gun Trilogy (I had wrongly assumed this was with Varese so imagine my surprise!) -Innerspace -Batman: Expanded Archival Edition (nice to finally have "Batman to the Rescue")
Also:
-Batman: The Animated Series Volume 1 (I hadn't watched the show in years but I was hooked in the first 10 seconds) -Die Hard -Independence Day -Medal of Honor Collection -Trading Places
Aw, crap, I take it back, what's the matter with me, how could I have forgotten my beloved STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE set?!? It definitely sits higher than the FRIDAY THE 13TH set. Love the latter, but I'd give it to Donald Trump or Sarah Palin far quicker than I'd give my TMP set to Jesus!
Krull The Dark Crystal Nate and Hayes ST: TMP Hook The Edge Independence Day From Beyond
... Just off the top of my head. Would have included Jones' THE SENDER if it were in stereo (sorry, I'm a spoiled youngster who considers mono largely unlistenable!)
