I liked Brandon Routh as Superman/Clark Kent, however.

It was the Lois Lane I didn't much care for (they cast Supes to look like the cartoon character. In this film, Lois looks nothing like she should).

Hey BM, why is that you and Espinoza come back on the very same day? What have I done to deserve this?

I thought Routh was okay. I thought Cavill did a good job too. However, both were cast in mediocre films.

Perhaps it's my diminished familiarity with / concern for DC characters relative to Marvel, but I don't really get too hung up on the "look" of Lois Lane; the character has looked so different in her different incarnations over the decades that I don't really consider her to have a definite visual template the way Superman / Clark Kent / Kal-El does. Moreover, while I get that nailing the look of a comics character is often a big deal, there's a part of me that still thinks something more substantial than just someone's looks ought to be some sort of consideration in casting roles for movies. Crazy, I know...

Anyway, as I like Amy Adams, she's frankly the major reason I'd want to see Man of Steel at all, though so far she hasn't been enough of a draw to get me to see it - there's just too much else about the movie I won't care for, judging from the previews and what I've read and so forth. I'll probably see it anyway, but only once it gets to the local discount second-run theater.

I did enjoy Superman Returns, though.

I thought Amy Adams was miscast as Lois Lane, and one of the only weak points of the film for me. She had no chemistry with Henry Cavill.
