Great release. I don't own any of the previous versions so this will be a definite purchase. 1500 as well will mean I can wait a day and combine it with LLL releases and save on shipping. Thanks smile

I'm not sure 1500 will give you that kind of breathing room on a Jerry title like this, but maybe smile

This score has never ever gotten the respect it's due - it's prime and great Jerry - and no, it's not the same score as the original and that's as it should be since the second film is very different. I think one of the reasons people didn't revisit this, at least the people who had the last of the CD releases, is because that listening experience is so fatiguing on the ear, thanks to the extra-hot mastering - it makes everything harsh and it's so, as James Nelson calls it, brickwalled to the limit that the dynamic range, which is pretty great on the original tapes, goes to hell. A lot of people who profess to hate that kind of hot mastering, somehow think that some things that are mastered that way are reference quality. It's funny. It took MGM about six weeks to finally find the half-inch mix-downs - perhaps that's why La La passed, maybe when they asked, if they did indeed ask, they couldn't find the tapes - I think the one thing we all know is that most of the other labels will grab any Goldsmith they can, especially if they can make complete that which wasn't. We're VERY excited about this - I love the score bunches.

Received this today - absolutely gorgeous sound for this release - the usual diamond standard from Kritzerland. I have played it twice through already and agree that this is indeed a masterpiece from Rosenthal. As one who missed the previous Intrada release, I am so pleased to have this at last. Thank you once again, Bruce - and all the Kritzers.

Received mine today. First time I've ever heard this music and I love it instantly. Thank you for speaking so passionately for it. It was that passion that nudged me into action on this one.

Glad the nudge worked and glad you love it - it's one of the greats.
