Read some early reviews on Curse of Chucky and it seems to go back to the roots of the original movie, introducing Chucky to new audiences; I have no idea what the score is like but generally any LoDuca horror score is worth checking out; I found myself last week listening to some of his scores La-La Land put out (Boogeyman, Triangle, Messengers) and not a bad apple in the bunch.

Seems to be straight to blu-ray but still looking forward to it!

Any chance of a soundtrack release?

Woah, Joe LoDuca, really? Sweet!

I've been rewatching all the Chucky movies over the last couple of weeks in preparation for this new movie. CHILD'S PLAY 2 reeeeeaaaallllly needs a CD release, and SEED OF CHUCKY is massively underrated.

I second a release for Revell's scores for the franchise, not sure what the holdup is there. Seed of Chucky I finally picked up from La-La Land on my last order and regret not having done so earlier, fun score.

If this doesn't get released, I'll be upset. The film just came out this week, and I watched it a few nights. Thought it was terrific and restored the series to its former glory. Joseph LoDuca's score was great, I'd say the best since Joe Renzetti's originally.

I would love to see it get a release. LLL? smile

So, I get to miss another score because it is a download. No mention of a CD.

Too bad it's not on CD, but at least it was released in some form. Better than nothing.

Thanks for the heads-up, lonzoe. smile

Another horror score to add to this month's already stellar list smile I agree about the download only, but who knows maybe it will still get a CD release at some point.

This comment (from another score board) leaves me less than interested:
Now I'm playing CURSE OF CHUCKY by Joseph Loduca. Or rather, I'm playing a track until I can't stand to listen to it anymore. It's all just "scary" music. Nothing redeeming at all. Horror scores can have some really gorgeous themes. Not this one. It's all just awful. I loathe this score. But I'm compelled to try the whole thing because there might just be something in it that I want to come back to someday. I'm growing increasingly doubtful.

You could always just hear it for yourself and decide if you like it or not.

Listening to the Loduca right now and it does have some nice themes, though I wouldn't call them 'gorgeous' lol. The main title establishes a nice music box main theme and gets reworked throughout the score, there are some 'family' oriented cues early on mostly to deal with Dourif's daughter. The more it progresses the bigger the terror and 'scare' cues go. I'd say overall the sound is what you'd expect from a Child's Play score, 'playful' terror.

What I liked about the score as I heard it in the movie, you'll find lots of nods to other horror scores, "up elevator" and the "end titles" is a definite nod to Suspiria, "No Time for Games" is an obvious nod to "The Thing" which I picked up immediately during the movie. There is a lot of sound design going on, but for me it works.

The end titles give a good feel of the score:

P.S. Total running time 68:25, not sure if anything is missing but it's plenty of Loduca to enjoy smile

I noticed that right away as well while watching the movie and thought it was very cool.

Hey, didn't know of this Chucky movie. I have seen all five (the first three being youth memories) , I'll hopefully get to see this one at some stage in the future.

Film Music Site reports a CD release from Paura Records but I can't find any corraborating evidence.

I’ve never seen this one (not the Cult one) but it’s LoDuca so I’d probably like it.

It appears to be an unofficial CDr release.
