Can someone who already owns the Shout-BR confirm that it really looks like in the comparision in the following link ?!
Maybe I am just to used to the European color timings but for me it looks wrong.

I don't have it yet, but based on those screencaps the new Blu-Ray looks much better. Those other caps look like the film was lightened up on that release, which isn't how my DVD copy is either. No doubt the new BR from Scream Factory preserves the original color timing of the film.

I am afraid you are right. I just watched my old NTSC-LaserDisc again and 'Wormface' does indeed look as dark and dull as in the Shout-caps !!
Other dealbreakers for me:
- Campfire. Where is the light of the fire in this cap ??
- Sea surface. So dark that you can hardly see where the horizon is.
The only cap looking better is for me 'Blake and the cross'.

So I am glad that I did not ordered it and will wait for the European version of Canal+/Kinowelt and hope it has more 'life'.

Even if the coloring is changed from how it was intended to be? Cinematographer Dean Cundy personally supervised Scream's transfer, so no doubt it looks the way it's supposed to. I think the Scream caps look much better than the Optimum ones, which look like somebody turned up the brightness on a TV screen.

Yes of course, I will not spent any money for something that I know I will not like !!

The UK release boosted the brightness. The colors are also off.

The new Scream factory release is as it was intended. It may be darker in some places, but that's how Dean wanted it.

If you prefer the lighter version, go for it.

The new Shout Factory release is unbeatable. Excellent, true image, and Carpenter's soundtrack sounds amazing. Go get it!

There is so much stuff coming out (both soundtracks and films) so that I have no problems to wait until Canal+ releases their version and I hope it will be more in 'our way'.
Doesn't have to be that extreme but a fog that isn't glowing (as in the caps) is not THE FOG for me.
