Man, it's really hard to pick just one favourite Doyle moment...he's done so many.
Certainly the first time my ears sparked up by his music was in his debut score. I remember watching a clip, on the telly, from Henry V and hearing his music under the St Crispin's Day speech.
It was just so exciting to hear such great music from a new voice in the field.
Dead Again also featured some thrilling music, a real throwback to scores from yesteryear.
If I had to whittle it down, it would probably be something from A Little Princess or Carlito's Way. Just two amazing scores (of many) that he was written.
I've always loved the song Kindle My Heart from ALP and the adagio, plus the chase music, from Carlito's Way. But my absolute favourite cue is actually compromised in the actual film. It's the Where's My Cheesecake track, when Pacino is trying to get into his old girlfriend's apartment. I think the cue is edited in the film, so it only comes in halfway through (if my memory serves me well). It's a lovely piece of scoring that I never tire of hearing.
I could pick many more scenes and scores (Needful Things, Much Ado, Hamlet, Rise of POTA) but I'll not go on.
